New daily driver/winter beater

So, I may be crazy, but I traded my truck in this weekend on this:

I had to keep the 6.2 V8 trend going. I've always liked the truck, but never really loved it. The daily driven car part of me was always in the back of my mind. I still love my G8, and it's going to stay a garage queen. The V isn't a classic yet, so I don't mind giving it the DD treatment.

So, am I crazy?

I actually like the red. As much as I hate to say it, it's a welcome change from having my last 6 cars be black.

SRM was a top color choice for the G8, but I couldn't find one when I was looking.

Good point, Wes.

I did snap a picture of it in the snow today.

That being said...it made the drive from Ho Chunk in the Dells back to Madison in the snow without much drama on the summer-only tires. However, given that I don't want any drama, I just ordered some Pirelli snow tires that will mount on these Camaro wheels I had laying around.

Very nice! Not crazy at all.

I plan to get a CTS-V as a DD down the road, unless the Chevy SS or future planned RWD Buicks are nice and priced right that is.

Nice ride!!! I was driving a company "V" from work as of lately and even though its no wheres close to my g8 for power, it seems to secretly acclerate without knowing how fast your going..... when I picked it up this last time, I was stopped on I-75 going 87mph and I didnt even realize I was speeding.... the policeman was cool and let me off with a 5mph over ticket cause he liked the car.... Nice!!! I love that ride!!

CTSv as a winter beater? Beautiful car, not sure i would call it the winter beater. My commuter car is a 98 grand Cherokee with some rust discoloration for example.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that wants to do this, and that was when I still had just the GT. Betting there will be some really good deals to be had on the last of the 2nd gen when the 3rd gen V comes out in a year or two. Same with the black too. Until I got the GXP, everything I had bought the last 20+ years has been black as long as you don't count the VTX.

Congrats!

I would've probably done it the opposite way...but to each his own, great car!

If I had to have V8 muscle as my DD I'd probably go w/ 300 or Charger w/ hemi and AWD. That CTS-V is too pretty and powerful for me to drive it in the snow!! Love the color!
