I do want to also mention that I would like G.O.N.E. to become a rotating location event so that as many people can attend as possible. The move to Texas in 2014 is being made possible because some great folks from Texas have stepped up to handle the local logistics, and to handle prep that I just can't do from so far away. These folks have also driven extensively all 3 years of G.O.N.E. to join us (with both G8s!), and have been of great assistance at the event itself. They've earned the right to a shorter haul for once. Ideally I'd like to see future events happening that might be farther east and west possibly. I would prefer to avoid a national event on either coast because it will just be too far away for folks to drive from the opposite coast. An eastern event closer to the Allegheny Mtns and a western event closer to the Rocky Mtns could work. For that to happen, there need to be volunteer(s) who will be the "local hosts" who can handle alot of the prep. If you are willing to take that on in future years, drop me a PM.
