finally got headers for my G8 GT....
only took 4+ years and 98,000 miles...but I ordered some JBA 1 7/8" LT's tonight...very nice price on ebay $500 shipped. Stainless, but uncoated. Will have Slowhawk install and tune.
At this point I have only a little over a year left of payments on the car, now w/ rims/full exhaust/headers/brakes/intake/tune/etc. I figure this will be my long term hobby car. If the cam gets wiped out from the bad original lifters all the better (although knock on wood I've never had an issue). My next DD will be something w/ a stick and sporty...pretty certain it'll be a WRX or the Focus ST, and the G8 will be stored at my mom's house and tweaked as the budget allows. No garage at my new house...but much roomier than my last condo.
Haven't seen too many people w/ the JBA long tubes, but they had a good rep in the GTO crowd, are stainless, and American made so I'm psyched. Just had plugs changed recently w/ OEM but may swap wires during the header install for the heck of it.
Pretty pumped. Its an early Bday gift (12-6) and surprisingly the wife's OK because she knew I had been on the hunt for decently priced headers for a while and knows they can run $1200+
I don't care about losing the cats as I'll sell them for some quick cash and I already have to go to a "special" garage for inspection w/ my tint. I expect at least 20whp maybe more deleting the cats adding the headers and modifying my custom tune. I'll repost results when I get them.
