Yours pacesetters must not have been built the same day as mine!

Headers are on.
1) Will not work with stock exhaust(or aftermarket replacement pidpipe) even with the Pacesetter connection pipes. Headers are too long without the pipes and also the exit location for the headers are way too wide.
2) Heatshields on the factory plugwires have to be removed to clear the header flanges.
3) Factory bolt that holds the dipstick to the cylinder head wont clear the header flange, needed a bolt without the shoulder on it to clear.
4) Steering shaft does have to be removed to install these JBAs, it was close but no cigar. Tubes loop out off the flange too far to make it past it.
5) One of the O2 sensors got buggered up removing it, can reuse it just need to chase the threads(only has one spot that needs touching up). I felt it once it broke loose and sprayed it down and let it soak while we installed the headers.

Wow!! Ok. So what are you going to do about connecting to the mid pipe?

Im driving to the muffler shop tomorrow.
Now that I have these headers on I bet the Camaro headers would go on just as easy on this car. Ive got plenty of room for headers on this car. Once I dropped the steering shaft out of the way on the driverside theres a ton of room and the other side has almost as much.

Unbelievable. That's a shame to hear but thanks for the forewarning. Any pics would be a big help

Im taking pix tomorrow. I still dont regret getting these over the Pacesetters, they look awesome on the car and its not a real big deal going to the muffler shop. Ive worked at two and still real good friends with both owners. I reused the manifold gaskets and bolts, havent fired it up yet though because of the O2 sensor.
Also, the O2 extension for the driverside was wrong. I use it anyway- the keyway slots were wrong and wouldnt line up- guess theres a difference between a 08 model and 09. I took a Dremel and a cut off wheel and cut a slot in the male side of the extension and the female side I took a pair of needle nose pliers and broke the key out of it because its too long. It all plugged up then.

I had same issue with O2 extension harness. Ticked me off. That's a shame they won't line up to midpipe.

Yeah, it wasnt a deal breaker though like I said. I posted to let future JBA owners know though so not to expect to throw these things on in the driveway and expect to go cruising around directly afterwards.

Bo, I show a missed call from you 2 nights ago but it just showed on my phone last night. I've been having phone issues as of late it seems. I'm guessing you were going to invite me to help. Would have loved to and I probably could have swung it too. And I just saw this thread too. Oh well.....sorry. Glad you got em on though even with some issues.

Bo, how far are they off from lining up? Is it something that I could make work with a prebent offset? I have the welding/cutting skills and tools to make it work. I just don't have a pipe bender! I know summit carries exhaust offsets. I'm hoping to avoid the exhaust shop, there aren't any good honest ones in my area.

Were the exhaust bends around the tranny cross member it needs to go straight into the collector from there instead of hooking back in to the original spot on the cat. Im going to take pix shortly, Im on the way over there now.

I didn't do the install myself but was there for part of it, the shop needed to neck down the size from where the collector exits to where the stock catback needed matching up - JBA includes flanges or some kind of connection pipe but they didn't work, had to do some minor welding and cutting. No big deal if the shop knows what they're doing.

Great sound @ startup and once warmed up no drone and pretty mild

Thanks for chiming in, I did not remember you saying there were any issues, and they were advertised to bolt right on. I thought maybe it was a GXP issue. I have aftermarket X Pipe, so I probably will have to take these somewhere. I almost pulled the trigger on a set.
