Pics of g8's with 18's.

I am looking around for new wheels and keep reading that 18's are too small for this car. I shouldnt listen to opinions, but would like to see some good pics with 18's. I would have to assume that there are some performance gains as well as ride quality to go along with it. I am running Camaro 20's now and think they look natural on it. Thanks for posting.

I love my 18's, so I'll try:

For me the harshness of going up a few sizes (less sidewall) is less enjoyable for daily driving duties. Stock sized tires, at least in my case with just a bolt-ons headers car, it's perfect. Sure if I was pushing more power, I'd need a wider tire patch which is usually why people go up in tire size. Not for me though, comfort of ride is king.

Have you seen this top gear episode? Might be worth a watch...

VMR and TSW 18" wheels look great on the G8. Lower rotational mass = better handling, steering response, acceleration and braking, as well as fuel consumption (marginally).

I really like my setup. But it's a function over form thing for me. I think they look fine, but that wasn't my main goal.

I prefer the 18's, although my 19's are nice on my car. A nice 18 inch set of VMR or TSW looks awesome on these cars.

I love my alleggerita 18's. I think they look just right. Its handles great and still has some sidewall to cushion those nasty bumps. Perfect for dd use, especially when you're running coil overs.

Re: Pics of g8's with 18's.

I just went to tsw 18s from camaro 20s. I think the camaros look better but the 18s make for a better ride and it feels a lot quicker. I dont have pics but search for mathewo. He has the tsws. Looks pretty damn good but i do think 20s look better.

i like my 18s. tsw nurburgrings 18x9.5 all around. the extra sidewall really helps. i have been driving my car "off road" more recently to state parks and other spots to photo wildlife. it has seem a lot of dirt, gravel and very poor surfaces. the extra tire is nice, to say the least. i need a truck. but on road it handles great with 275s all around and light weight 18s

Matthewo- that's the newer CTS-V brakes? They look awesome behind 18's, really fills the space. I wasn't sure they would fit but I'm wanting them even more now.

Agreed! Awesome pics fo' sho'.

I've decided that if I ever get wheels, they are going to be those TSW N-rings in 18". The matte/gunnmetal to go on my PBM.

Im usually one to argue for 19" minimum on these cars but brad really has the stance right to run 18s. Probly the best looking G8 I have seen with 18s. I understand a lot of you guys run 18s for either ride comfort or track purposes but when it comes to picking wheels primarily based on looks I gotta recommend 19s or 20s.

What suspension are you running MATTHEWO?
RAWYZF, I see you're on Eibachs, what about shocks/struts?

I think I'm going to go with 18" TSW Mirabeau and was wondering how I needed to lower my car to get them looking like yours.

Thanks
