Question Insurance Cost?

Ok, so I'm am looking to get a new car thats faster then a lot of the other cars on the road for a low price and good looking. The G8 GT came to mind, had the best features, and beats a lot of cars on the road. Right now my other option is a 335i. Just don't like how they don't like there plain look. But anyways, I'm young, but heard that even young peoples insurance went down from the last car they got. My dad works for Allstate and think he knows all without looking at the insurance cost.
So my question is, do you pay sports car insurance or is it decently low cost?

Not sure what the classify my GT as, but I do get some discounts, one of them being a member of ESD which gives a HUGE discount.

With a $500 deductable, I pay about $460 every six months. I am 43.

we traded in a 2008 G6 GT for our 2008 G8 GT and the insurance rate stayed the same,i was surprised at that.

so they must not consider a G8 a sports car,at least in Iowa where we live.

Yea, I mean it really shouldn't be rated as a sports car, think the price of insurance goes by safety rating and the fact that this is a sedan. But dad still won't listen. I'll get em to read these and show him that just because a car has a v8 doesn't make it a high insurance sports car.

I'm 24, I pay $218/month on my G8. That's with a $500 deductible. A lot of coverage though.. when I was on the phone with the insurance company, my words were exactly: "If God himself were to come down and flick this car with his mighty finger, I want it covered."

My Bonneville, for some reason totally unknown to me, was costing me $323. So now I'm driving a more powerful, newer, more expensive car... with cheaper insurance.

I hate all of you.

I pay $404 PER MONTH or $4848 PER YEAR for my V6 G8, with full coverage and a $500 deductible.

That's what I get for speeding.

I pay less than $700 per year. (Driver in his fifties with no recent accidents or tickets.) It's just another boring 4-door sedan as far as State Farm is concerned.

I just quoted the G8 GT I want. To bad its the only one I no of in Alabama for sale. But it is $280 which is good I guess with my speeding ticket and one red light(which I didn't run). Since the SRT-8's and 5.0 I guoted were like $370-390 a month. I didn't edit any of the coverage neither. So hopefully I'll find another G8 GT for sale. I'm looking for white or dark grey, and last choice is black.

Just got my first full insurance payment. 23 with no tickets on my record and they somehow moved the 2 small accidents I had.

Full coverage with uninsured and underinsured coverage.
Pay $648 every 6 months.

That's after multi-line, multi-car, and accident free discounts, which saves me almost $260 every 6 months.

Not bad for the car but I was paying ~$350 every 6 months with my 01 civic.

Roto-Fab w/ dry filter, vms ECM/TCM tune, kooks catted mid length headers, solo Mach shorty cat back, camaro 20's, bc coilovers.

Are you serious?! I'm paying $500 for 6 months on my G8 GT with a $500 deductible and 100k/300k coverages and uninsured motorist. I'm only 23 also. I guess it's cause I haven't had any tickets in a while, but I did have a reckless driving ticket for speeding and several speeding tickets between 18 and 21. My most expensive car to insure was my 2007 Hyundai Elantra at $315 a month. The G8 is actually the cheapest car that I have ever paid insurance on.

^^ Yes sir, It is a sedan so that helps a lot! I pay $910 every six months but thats with my G8GT and my wife's Honda Odyssey at full coverage with $500 deductibles. I am 34 and my wife nor I have any negetive traffic information. Also I move around a lot due to being in the military and can tell you first hand that aside from the type of vehicle you have the location typically plays a big part in your rates. When I lived in El Paso I paid about 1/3rd more than I do now due to auto theft and accidents ratio for that area were higher than where I live currently. The cheapest my rates have been was in Clarksville, TN. Again location is a factor not just age/marrital status/traffic citations.

Solo Mach Shorty / Chrome Blackout / Debadged Rear / Two Tone Painted Calipers / LED Interior lights / DDM 5k HIDs / 2 10" Kicker Comps / Body matched lower grills / LED Fogs

Best 1/4: 13.45@105.1 MPH / Location: Thundervalley Raceway Park
