I made the poor choice of putting my snow tires on early this year. We had a weekend in late Oct where we got some freezing rain and it convinced me to put them on. Then we proceeded to have 6 weeks of decent weather. Oh well...
I can't wait to get my summer tires back on. I miss my spirited runs on the highway coming home from work. I get to 80+ mph on my snow tires and I fear they'll explode, haha. I know they won't, but I never like to push the limits on non-performance tires. That and they can feel like giant marshmallows at times...
And this my friends is why I consistently tell posters to purchase HIGH PERFORMANCE SNOWS IN THE CORRECT SIZE ON NOTHING LESS THAN 18"
I live in metro Boston area - even during our WORST winter seasons the roads will be cleared 90% of the time, in the WORST winter areas of the country the roads should be clear 70% of the time....if not you shouldn't be driving the G8 year round to begin with.
Get some performance snows rates for 130mph+ and get them in 245 width. Then you will be perfectly fine when it snows and still have a decent handling/riding/cornering car the rest of the time when the roads a re clear.
