I would go with LT's. Mids will bolt up to a cat back. Just depends on if you are doing it yourself or having someone do the work.

Saw a white GXP the other morning at midrivers/94. That was the first time I've seen a whiteGXP in town.

Longtubes for sure, especially if you're planning on doing a cam in the future.

I'm bolting em up myself, I figure if I can fix my home's AC unit this past summer, I can tackle the headers...lol. Have any of you guys had any issues passing emissions with the Lt's? Any clearance issues or bottoming out?

No clearance issues these aren't Fbodys heh.

You can pass emissions with the proper tune no issues.

Any problems with the visual inspection though? I've been debating mids just for the simplicity of not having hacking up my Borla and no problems with passing emissions.

I also debated SLP LT since they should also bolt right up and have cats, but heard they're not as efficient as the Kooks 1-7/8 mids and they're only 409 instead of Kooks 304 stainless. It'll probably be a while before I pull the trigger so I have plenty of time to research.

Most peope i know always know a "hookup" to get past the lack of cats part.

I will let you know how the visual goes next month. I although have the free flowing cats. I normally just go to jiffy lube. I don't think they are gonna know what they are looking at.

I'd be surprised if anyone notices high flow cats....

Do they even do a visual in MO anymore? I thought they just hooked it up to the OBDII port.

Also, if anyone wants or knows anyone that wants a set of SOLO HFC's, I have a brand new set I just got that I'm looking to sell.

okay so I know even less than I thought I did...lol. So, high-flow cats are illegal? And if they are, don't all Kooks shorty's and Mid's come with them? Do most of you go with 3/4 or 7/8?

I am pretty sure HFC are not illegal. I have things that look like cats but there is nothing in them. They would not pass if they knew what they were. I live @ HWY K and 40 as well, if you want to see my set up I can swing by for you to take a look.

Also The shorties do not come with cats. They bolt up to the factory cats. You would see minimal gains with the shorties.

I am curious to how similar our cars sound. I have the magnaflow catback with the pacesetter headers. No cats

The 343HP was at Steigemeiers Speed Shop and was Cold Air intake, Catback and Fap tune. I have not been dynoed since the longtubes and ported throttle body.

hey guys im new to the forum and im thinking of getting a g8 real soon and i found one on craigslist down in popular bluff and was wanting to know if anyone knows of this car or it is someones on here. 2009 Pontiac G8 GT - $19500 (Poplar Bluff)

Car is equipped with 2300 magy, LS 9 injectors, water methanol injection. Nice leather interior, heated seats, remote start, 6 disc cd changer, cold ac, super clean car. Has prior salvage title. Very light frontal damage. Didn't deploy airbags. Rebuilt with all GM parts. Not your average rebuild!!! Has custom tunning and Dyno sheets. owner said it put out 515hp and 640 tq to rear wheels.
