Since you asked, my $.02 is go with the supercharger. Ease of installation, reliability, compact size, and lots of support. It's not "different", but it accomploishes the goal. If you're looking to be different, you're also looking for trouble.
Maybe an LS7 twin-turboed, and a Lenco backing it. That's different, right?

If you are the same Mighty Mouse over on LS1tech then I know you have plenty of experience with turbo cars so I would go with a 400ish inch motor with twin turbos.

Maggie's are great for daily driven cars (I love mine) but for what you are trying to accomplish I think turbos are the way to go.

Interesting thread...though, I'll never hit 200 in my G8, I would be interested in knowing what it would take to get it there.

etc and you can bet those are not stock vehicles.

you are gonna need alot more HP, aerodynamics, and gearing than you think to hit 200, as 168 isnt even close.

My .02 is to go with the Maggie.

Ive been 172 in my G8 and ran out of room. I have a 1900 and have heard about the 2300 lacking the torque on the bottom end which helped me make the decicision to go with the 1900. Hindsight tells me that I have more torque than I can deal with on the bottom end and would actually benefit running the 2300 for its larger displacement for the top end. I had a lot of time on the dyno as well as on the road data logging/monitoring with another tuner before I went to Patrick G, who's tune I currently run. He left some torque managment in the cars computer. If you were to take away the torque management, it would be an unruly beast as I have experienced.

So do you think with some internals,a 2300, pulley and the right gearing he can reach his goal?

I dont think he will do it in a mile.

He needs more room to run it out. Thats crazy fast on a highway. He would have to find a long stretch and see what it will do. My car felt very stable @ 170 so no fear there. But You'd probably make the front headlines if you got caught going that fast though. I'd like to know what kind of HP he will make on the dyno though.

Here is a thread from back in 2008 when the 700-800+ HP Intense Twin Turbo guy was thinking about trying for 200mph at the Texas Mile.

The thread also gives our car's Coefficient of Drag and approx Frontal Area which are critical in calculating the HP it would take to reach 200mph regardless of distance.

I'm not the same Mighty Mouse from the LS1tech forum. This was actually my first post ever on a forum. I have always heard not to listen to forums but now I can see all you have to do is weed out the bad and learn from the good. I know alot of people love these cars and they are amazing to see on the roads I just thought it would be quit interesting to bring my build to the table and make sure I spend the money where it's needed. Only the great people on this forum have done that and thank you.
On another note.... I have just had my 26th birthday and I'm ready to really get to the grind stone and get a build sheet going. I have read and read and it seems to be mixed feelings on either Twin Turbos or a Blower. Not only power but areodynamics to get this four door monster thru the air to that speed.
Food for thought. In aussie country they have the V8 Supercar series. Can a simular body kit be created here... or maybe an extra one sent over.... I have yet to see it but it would be awesome.

Well I have been thinking. It's been a while and it's the end of the show season. Does anyone have anything planned that would get them into the 200pmh club in a G8 now?

There are a couple guys on this forum that could do 200mph easily.... just dont get out to the flats.... I believe... many of have well over 750rwhp.... and have the cars that could do it...

I know my car could get there but, I am letting it down by not finding the long road to nowhere lol. If I lived in Texas I probably would have by now
