Concerning THIS part...(thanks Pony Man btw)

...here's what I've found. Since the shipping seems to be ridiculous on such a small part ($10 or more), if you purchase more than one, the value goes up.

Granted you may not need more than one but if you figure in how often you may need it vs. trying to get one once they jack up the price, it could be worth it. If we are already having issues at the 3 and 4 year mark with these cars...could be worth having a spare on hand. Example: ordering three you've cut the cost of one in half. Now, finding one at your local dealer for a competitive price is also a thought.

@captjoe, if you’ve had this replaced within the last 12 months or 12,000 miles on the vehicle since you have the replacement, this might be covered under the parts and labor warranty.

So when I ordered the rubber piece they didn't charge me a shipping cost. I don't remember where they had to get it from but it was definitely not stocked at the dealer. I think all parts were shipped in.

Basically all but the guts and bottom key ring/panic button were replaced for around $65. And then that gave me an extra ignition key without buttons I could use if needed.

Friday i went to the dealer to talk to them about my key fob again. They started to tell me it wasn't covered and I told them I talked with someone from GM and I was told it should be covered under my warranty. After researching it my new fob has been ordered. Thanks Michelle!!

Great tip, replaced the rubber fob and tightened the screw behind the logo. Looks and feels brand new. Got the fob at Lorenzo Bomin Chevy in Miami for less than $9.

How were you able to get to the screw? I tried and started scratching mine up.

Eyeglass repair screwdriver (flathead). You have to try and move the logo under the edge with your thumb. It is countersunk under the rim. I have a little damage to the edge of the arrowhead but it was worth not having a key not feeling like it was going to break every time I started the car.

Ok. Got it off and tightened the fob up. Now I have to locate an HSV or Holden logo to replace it.
