Took my car to the track today and managed two 1/4 mile runs. The first was 13.30, but I didn't get a MPH printed on the slip for some reason.
Made my second pass in the left lane, 13.32 @ 105.12.
I'm very happy with the car. The tune is something a friend of mine with HP Tuners did. I haven't messed with HP Tuners enough to really know how he added timing and reduced some of the torque management; but what he did made the car significantly faster. The car had been a best of 13.9 @ 102 when it was completely stock. 3 MPH and 6 tenths from the tune, I am very happy with those results!
I think the next mod I do for the car will be getting it ready to use E85. I'll have to do some research on what it takes to put an ethanol sensor on these and then straighten out the computer side of using E85. I'd love to be able to put in E85 when it was available, make use of the additional timing that is available, and then have the ECM auto correct fueling and timing based on whatever mish mash of 93 octane and E85 winds up in the tank.
2008 G8 GT - Grey / Black - stock with a tune - 13.30 @ 105
2002 Trans-Am - Navy Blue Metallic / Black - M6 - Heads, Cam, N20 - 11.23 @ 127 - 525 RWHP
1991 Corvette - Black / Black - M6 - 383 - 11.37 @ 122 NA - No nitrous times - 415 RWHP NA - 550 RWHP N20
1989 Mustang LX - Gun Metal Grey / Black - M6 - Heads, cam, some other stuff - 12.57 @ 109
That is excellent! A 13.30 on a tune is quite respectable, and 13.8-13.9 is what 95% of them ran off the showroom floor.
