When I installed my 3.45 diff, I found that GM updated the seal numbers. The later version was more compatible with synthetic gear oils (less prone to leaking). I was unsure which seals were in mine so I just changed them anyway before install since it is a cheap part.
I saw this info on the Camaro5 forum, there was service bulletin to address noisy/chattering differentials. It entailed changing to a different gear oil and changing the seals. I do not remember much else since its been a while since I did the swap.
dumb question, but the new axles seals go in the differential right? then the axles slide into the diff.
