Awesome headers. Great guys to deal with. I own a number of vehicles with their headers and they're second to none!

They make the best headers on the market in my opinion. I have them on my Camaro SS, and it won't be long before I order some for the G8 too.

As I start to lean more towards full headers and pipe back to stock mufflers, I reviewed ARH, Kooks, and SLP. I noticed SLP used 409 SS, you use 304. I'm sure SLP is a good product and so is yours, as well as Kooks.

Based on pricing, do you put yourself in the upper category of price/quality as compared to SLP and its use of 409 SS?

409SS even coated rusts very quickly before I was working here I had a set of there F-body headers that rusted through the coating on the primaries where they meet collector in 6 months. I definately put us at the top of the list for quality,fitment and customer service. At this point I believe we are the only company using 100% U.S. made materials including the flanges and collectors and all the clamps so rust will never be an issue. Also everything is made in our shop under our supervision nothing is outsourced and qulitied by someone else. when thers a 2 month wait for something is it because they are'nt making it right now or because the boat has'nt arrived yet.

Thank you. I related this to what I have found with stainless steel grills. I will keep ARH in mind as I get closer to making my decision. Still want to review all headers, now including Doug Thorley.

Are you g8 headers full length or shorties?

Btw I had a mishap (got 2 lefts!) with some of thier very first GTO headers. they had me fixed in a day. I understand everyone has thier days but how well they handled the problem showed me how great of a company they are!

I was one of the first to get the ARH's and they still look as good as the day they were put on, other than some bluing at the exhaust manifold.

Question....what is the recommendation on primary size for say a bolt on car with a tune? Intake, etc...with no internal engine work.

1-3/4" would be best for bolt ons. I went with 1-7/8, but i have a cam and plan on installing a maggie.

Thank you ARH...your system dropped my 1/4 by around .5. my cam was begging for more flow! It was a pleasure being one of your customers!

Why do you say that? Where did you hear that from?

The f body LS crowd with bolt ons typically run 1 7/8. With our more powerful engines, why wouldn't we? What is the downfall?

We have built MANY fast cars and we use ARH on all of them. They are BY FAR the best headers on the market. We have them on our 8 second C6Z06

1996 camaro SS.....700hp N/A 396 LT1, 6 Speed, 9 inch and a bunch of nitrous (in progress)

not sure how much it really matters...its hard to tell you for sure without putting numbers for both sizes and similar mods right next to each other.

however, its usually said that if you are only doing bolt ons, you are good with the 1-3/4"...if you plan on adding a beefy cam and/or FI, then get 1-7/8...i honestly dont know enough yet to tell you any more than that

i guess you could make the arguement that "when in doubt, go bigger".

We usually recommend 1-3/4 to the mild bolt on guys looking for sound with a little hp gain and 1-7/8 for the guys who mod their cars more. Either choice will be fine you may loose a little bottom end with the 1-7/8. On a 4th Gen F-body we recommend the same thing no need for 1-7/8 on an ls1 till the heads and cam changes start.
