i know the G8 doesnt have XM yet, but does it have capabilities of putting satellite to it, i have a GXP grand prix, and it came with XM, i changed the XM box and put in a Sirius box and now i get Sirius through the radio wondering if i can do that with the G8 also, i guess only people that might know is the ones who have that exact blaupunkt stereo system.
Thanks So much for your input

Pretty sure there is an aux input.
Pending government approval, Sirius and XM may have merged before the G8 gets XM. If the XM box doesn't pickup the Sirius signal then you should be able to switch the box as you did before.

It does not appear to claim to be satellite-ready, it has ipod/MP3 input on front.

The "Aux In" plug will help if you have a way to plug it in. The Sirius car kits that come with portable units will work fine. If your Sirius reciever has an option to plug in to the "Aux In" plug, then no problem. But, the radio itself is not satelitte ready.

Mornin', Everyone,
As you can see, I'm pretty new here, but I've been reading and digesting all that I can from these forums for the last three weeks, or so, as well as every place I can Google that claims to have info on the G8. I gotta tell you, this site is easily the best source of info and it's actually quoted on other sites.
But to my reason for replying on this thread: I've read that a lot of people have Bluetooth availability questions and this seems the best place to spread some info I received from a dealer a couple of weeks ago. While he said that they were still working through compatibility issues related to Bluetooth with On-Star and the fact that , according to him, the typical Holden electronics are a little different from those stateside, he's confident that the '09's will have it all worked out. He said that in the meantime, they've been referring customers to a local company here in Milwaukee, WI that will do an install of Bluetooth in a non-Bluetooth equipped Pontiac and that it will not void any warranties. The cost is supposedly less than $300.
I'm simply passing this on and I'm not stating that I have firsthand knowledge of the accuracy, but someone else here may be able to testify to the accuracy or refute it. Otherwise, check with a dealer for more info. Hope this helps.

Other than in your area, I'd take that last sentence with a grain of salt. Most of us know more than our dealers. As for the Bluetooth compatibility, I'd expect it to be fixed. I always envision employees at GM who's only job is to fix minor problems like this. Eight hour shifts just to get the software to get along. :gr_jest:
