Does anyone Know anything yet about replacing the factory radio in the new car. I noticed that the HVAC and the Radio seemed to be merged together. You can see it in the link below.

Mainly I'm wondering if our friends from Australia have created any type of adapter or solution to this yet.

To me it looks like the actual stereo is a separate piece than the HVAC controls.

According to Pontiac's site, "Standard 7-speaker audio system with MP3 input jack."

Thank god. I'm sick of using RF adapters.

It looks like if you want a good radio, you better get the nav. Most of it looks like it can be removed, but the volume, track and disc buttons, and power button are in a seperate piece.

I'm sure a good system can be adapted to the factory head unit...Back in the day I had RCA's installed in the rear of a delco unit and the factory amps removed(inside stereo) and built it from there...Stealth and factory look..FTW

Yes its merged for the SS model but for the SS-V model its not the good news the cd player can read MP3 ((only)) & CD audio also you can display the name of the track on the screen the bad news the center speaker for my VE SS is already broken  but I'll put a full sound system anyway (pioneer brand).:burnout:
