Didn't see it mentioned here, but it looks like APS will have a twin-turbo setup for the G8 available soon:
[557 HP @ 5900 RPM
583 LB-FT TORQUE @ 4200 RPM

I know APS has a great reputation for quality. Just curious how their setups work in practice based on other currently supported models (vette, GTO, Camaro).

This is what I'm talkin bout more competition between STS and the other turbo manufacturers I can already think of 3 turbo companys including this one. This watercooled set up is TOP NOTCH this is exzactly the product I have been waiting to see just for the fact that the water cooled technology alone requires the turbo to be rubeuilt maybe once in the entire lifespan although the remote mount scenario is not good for people who live with a lot of snow or elevation changes because the air pressure practicaly boggs the turbo down its like a vaccum is pulling on the turbo the other way sucking air out of the turbo from the intake

Remote mount liquid cooled = less maintenance - KEEP IT CLEAN or you could toast your motor from sand rock debris - Personal encounter

engine bay mount twin turbo = less dirt & debris getting in the spool more maintenance unreliable - find your self on the interstate taking it off LOL

^^^^I'm kind of looking forward to a possible STS kit myself...

I wonder if they tested this on a 6A or a 6M???

If it was a 6A, I wonder how well it held up.

I'd like to see a comparison between this and a STS Twin Turbo Set-Up

After reading the notes under the dyno, it appears that the tester was a manual because it said an auto would deliver lower power.

Gotta love APS kits! They have phenonimal quality in the subaru scene and it's awesome to see they carried over to the G8!!!

I'm still getting a blower :)

After owning a supercharged car, I'd go for one too. Especially if it was a TVS from EATON. The STS turbo kits do seem just as great on the low end, but living in Ohio, the water could scare me with the intake being so low.

Me too... :patriot:

APS does produce very nice kits from what I have seen and can make some serious power when other upgrades are in place.

My big decision would be between a procharger and the APS kit. I think either way would be amazing, but I'm leaning toward the APS after seeing the kit on the new Vette's.

The APS is a great kit. It makes tons of power and is very stealthy. But turbo kits just have too many parts for my liking...Especially a TT kit...

If I am able to get my G8 soon I have a company lined already that is based here in the states, that wants to develop a single turbo setup for it. I have worked with the guy a few times before so after taliking we decided on the single turbo setup, usually one sligthly larger turbo will work out better then going with a dual setup, it'll be less stress to deal with and less to install. The only thing we are weary about is the transmission, so more then likly we will be doing something moderate say about 420-440ish to the wheels see how that goes then beef up the tranny from there.(sorry don't man to thread jack just wanted to let people know about future options.)

Gen TT (http://www.ls1turbo.com.au/us/g8_gentt.html) has a kit also IIRC $7k , more than 500WHP

Any word on how much $$$ the APS kit will run ?

Does the APS kit come with fuel injectors, and is the stock pump enough? How about a canned tune to get it to the dyno shop, or as a start for the home tuner? For $7k plus, I would hope so. Full parts list would be cool.

Chipless

Our understanding is that everything except fuel injectors and dyno tune are included. We already have our first kit on order so we'll be able to confirm that very soon.

Our intention is to probably offer a twin turbo kit starting point mail order PCM, and/or an HP Tuners package that includes a starting point calibration file for customers who purchase this kit. :)

Not this time. The G8 will be built for the street. ;)

Oh sorry, I could have sworn the opening sentance said that you were going to transform it into a full fledged track car.

We're built some badass track cars in the past, but this one's for the highway. :D

for 7k i would hope to have it completed (installed and tuned) within a reasonable time and have a warranty as well...

i would love a TT set up. 7k sounds good if it's like previously stated, a full package. Drop the car off for a week, pick it up and you have a SRT Killer. Very clean kit.

One little question, with the turbo's being located under the car, would there be an issue driving in the rain? and how tucked under is the kit? does it sit a little lower than stock??

7K gets you the kit minus the tuning and fuel upgrades. The APS systems are extremely well made and very detailed. Labor for these kits take longer than your standard supercharger kit. Expect to pay about another 2K for install labor, $750 for fuel upgrades and $500 for a complete tune.

APS provides a warranty but I'm pretty sure Pontiac will be looking at you a little funny if you want them to warranty the drivetrain after installing a killer twin turbo system.

Rain, sleet or snow aren't an issue with either the APS or the STS kit.

Basically stay away from trying to cross streams, rivers, ponds and oceans. :D

so for 7k it's not a turbo kit.... basically some pipes, couplers, clamps, and 2 turbos...
why not just advertise a complete kit for $10k.... it would seem as though people would almost always want to upgrade the fuel system... of course unless you don't have to on stock boost levels...

I used to think that turbos were the less engineered, more generic, significantly cheaper system of forced induction but I guess not, at least where price is concerned.

Hey Peter\APS: That should be over 600 hp and 620+ tq for the soon to come this fall in the states, 402hp\402tq G8 GXP LS3 M6, also a 100 lb lighter car due to the tranny.
