Is it possible that GM is not going to release the G8 until the dealers have been trained on the car. I was at a GM event today for dealers and they had 8 or 9 G8's for them to drive and be trained on. Just a thought. I kinda snuck in and walked around for about 5 minutes then I asked one of the GM people if I could go take a look at the cars and he said ok. I didn't get a chance to drive but, they looked great. The exhaust was QUIET. Had all of the colors

I think the "official" ship to public date by GM is Monday March 3rd, 2008. It's possible they are waiting for this date for haul a way truck to deliever to dealerships.....?

March 3rd is my birthday!!!!!
what a shame I have to wait for the GXP. it would have made a really nice birthday present,
This car is going to be a huge hit GM should market the success of this vehicle.

I though concensus was March 1st...
3 days - not another 3 weeks.
Oh, well...
Is that "official"????

It looks like they may not be released from the port of entry (Benicia, CA) until March 1st-3rd, at which point they will be loaded onto rail/truck. Figure travel time from the port to your place in the country at that point.
correct. they will hit lots in about 3 weeks.

I asked my dealer in Los Angeles and he said next month. I told him that I heard march 1st or 3rd but he said no. He could be talking out of his ass though.
correct. they will hit lots in about 3 weeks.
Thanks for the info. I would rather be counting down the days to lift-off than sit here pissed-off about not knowing when they will arrive.
I'm not even getting an 08MY and I'm still impatient. I suppose it is good for GM to have people hyped about their products arriving to market. It means they did a good job a few years ago when their products were under development, and they are only now coming to fruition.

Another delay? Now what?I agree.
General, do you know, and can you share why they are sitting at the port for 2 months, doesn't make sense to me for GM to tie up all that money without reason, did they forget to file some papers or do some sort of test?
It would not suprise me if they launch the G8 in dealerships after they give away #888 in the sweepstakes.
