: G8 Performance Parts?
CamaroSS 02-26-2008, 12:22 PM What parts are currently available for the G8 as soon as it rolls off the lot? I am making a list of parts we can buy and they all seem to be suspension. Are there intakes, exhaust systems, turbo kits?
Thanks!
sccaGTO 02-26-2008, 07:35 PM Not yet. There are some items (turbo kits, over the radiator/OTR intakes), but they are made (& currently) only in Oz. I do get the feeling that the aftermarket is gonna take quickly to the V8 models.
Nothing really. There's a twin turbo setup. And a couple companies working on blowers. I would imagine catbacks etc. are in the works throughout the community. 1 site I know of:

spd98 02-28-2008, 09:17 AM Cams and a fast setup are pretty close to release.
Mike P 02-28-2008, 10:25 AM Vector Motorsports already has a tune available for them ;)
Not only is this the quote of the year, but I now know where some of my tax credit is going to (Vector Tune)!
The hard part will be holding off on buying a OTRCAI & Tune, until I run it stock to get a baseline 1/4 mile time..... :gr_devil:

Any idea of pricing (and any other info. regarding the tune) for the PCM Tune on the 6.0 L76 G8 GT engines? $$$$$
GTPprix 02-28-2008, 04:51 PM ECM tune will follow normal pricing, no gouging because its new $349 and you can bring your car over and we'll do the TCM too ;)
Mike P 02-28-2008, 05:08 PM Awesome! Now all I need is my G8 GT........ :gr_devil:
chamberdog 03-09-2008, 05:14 PM I emailed a tuner down under and asked them if the mod's for the Commodore will work on the US production G8 (i.e. pcm etc) and they said yes they would work on the US models. I guess we will have to wait and see. ALso, I emailed several Holden dealers about shipping the Commodore front facia, grille and hood and one said they would do it. price? They said ALOT:cry:

Why waste the money, L76 intakes are supposed to be 90mm already. How bout some L92 heads to go with the L76 intake?

The L76 already has L92 heads, or at least the same casting.

I didn't think so, but the reply from my inquiry came from a US tuner in Washington state. I assume they ship product from US to down under? (I will have to find the response and post the info.) I have been in the car business all my working life and I didn't think that a Aussie tune would work on a US car. I guess i was being optimistic.:drink:
asylum 03-09-2008, 09:45 PM i think a lot of australian tuners would think the VE tuning would work on the G8 as they are both 6L motors, but i'd guess the differences between the L98 and L76 would have some complications.
we used the L76 in the VZ commodore, but the cylinder deactivation was, deactivated! lol no idea how tuning is going to effect that system but i'm sure people will be able to figure it out soon enough

You're best bet is;
1) Wait for JHP to market OEM stuff.
2) Wait for a few dealer parts departments to buy a bulk load of these parts after getting a group buy going.

You will learn quickly, if Chris says something about the PCM/ECM on a vehicle, you can take his word for it. No guesses, no wishes, no hopes. Truth.
If anything wasn't compatibale, I would think it would be the the pcm.
group buys ftw!
Ausstar 03-16-2008, 02:48 PM i want the GTS front end but I like the Pont bonnet!! I wish we could get the best of both worlds...!!??
