so the g8's have wheel hop problems to?i know my gto had it, but it was more bad with the sticks.

yeah mine is a stick and thus far the few attempts i have tried with pre-rev-ing before launch only results in mad wheel hop. :turbonaughtdy_1:

was hoping to find someone who had resolved the problem with a single solution

well i know with the gto's there was no SINGLE solution..

but i will say tires play a big roll..Softer sticker tire will not hop like a hard street tire.

Like i said bags make a big difference...has anyone tried these?

There are a number of things that can cause this.

Sub Frame Bushing Play
Diff Bushing Play
Arm(s) Bushing Play
Driveshaft/Halfshafts

Try upgrading the Sub Frame Bushings and Differential Bushings first.
The Street 1 kit includes these parts, along with the Radius Rod Bushings, and Caster Lock Washers, all at a discounted price.

to be honest not knocking rob here at all, but alot of IRS cars have this issue.

My dads modded 03 cobra had this issue. I know he did bushings and different springs, he noticed the springs doing the most for him.
my gto it was tires and bags it seemed
Every car is different for sure.

100% correct, every car is different, every driver is different.

What works for some doesn't work for others.

But certain things will help on every car, and every driver. There may be no silver bullet that cures everything, but you have to start somewhere, and these are the first step.

I just got my BMR arms today and will be putting them on this weekend... I will let you know if they help.

Doubt they help. Its the rebound affect from the bushings in the diff and sub frames. Replace them and it will drastically reduce the hop. You can add airbags cheap after that or buy new rear shocks etc.

I have BMR trailing arms and wow what a difference. Wheel Hop is a big problem for us and wow what a difference. Best cost efficient solution....BMR trailing arms.

Another area that helps is to re-bush the rear cradle bushes, I have had this done and the aim was to reduce axle tramp up to 50% and really tighten the entire rear-end.

Pedders do make them however the superior ones seem to be these ones..

This mod is especially effective for higher power applications, where I have seen the entire rear cross-member twisting forward and the wheel touching the inner-guard.

Installation involves dropping the rear cross-member, removal and installation of the exhaust and replacement and addition to the original bushes. The cradle is re-aligned and make sure u have a good front and rear alignment.

Cheers

p.s this axle tramp is a very common problem once the VE/G8 is lowered.. of course as mentioned a good match of springs and shocks will help as well. I'd be really keen to see if those aftermarket trailing arms would help.. just not aware of any car thats had them fitted..

Trailing arms work until you increase HP and traction again. You really need everything we have posted so far to eliminate it. Of course when you get above say 600rwhp it can still rear its ugly head and snap a halfshaft. Seen it happen!
