This will be down the road but when the G8's come in be sure to check the tire pressures. The GTO ones were at like 60 psi for shipping from Australia. They were then supposed to be checked and lowered to the recommended operating pressure by the dealer. However most dealers didn't do this and a lot of cars were rolling around with 60 psi until the owners figured it out.

This was to stop flat spotting since they sat on the boat for so long and then in holding lots until they passed customs....just in case anyone asks.

the reasoning was understood, so many dealers though were not lowering them to their correct pressure.

Yea, I'll never forget reading all of those threads on LS1GTO.com. Kinda pathetic that the dealers didn't know how to properly prep the vehicles.

Sound reasoning indeed, but it would've taken the dealers about 10 minutes, tops, per vehicle to get them ready for road use... drop the psi in the tires and remove the rubber stops from the springs.

I was just at Pontiac.com looking at all the different options and specs for the G8. According to the website, all G8s will come with the DIC, which will include tire pressure information.

We are talking Poncho dealers here. They haven't had a performance vehicle since 2002......

Is the raised tire pressure standard procedure for all imports?
