Front nose chin splitter is a $500 fix waiting to happen. Power, handling, and Overall steering feel is above and beyond a comparably equipped GT model. It is very possible to pick them up in the upper teens used, most are fleet cars at this point, but overall for the package they are a good deal used.

They're laughable jokes. I'm assuming they're the sedans and do not carry the ridiculous whale tail wing on the back. You know, to help traction on the non-drive wheels. The sedans actually look better than the coupes by far. They're still got a rental class interior, and the incorrect drivetrain, but at least they've got a 6 speed auto.

If it's the price that makes you happy, look for a used GP GXP or Malibu SS(the Maxx SS is a decent find). They'll both be cheaper, and the GP will be more fun and has the V8 and leather/suede interior going for it. The Malibu SS is gonna be MUCH cheaper, and deliver probably about the same fun and interior. And the Maxx is a sweet wagon version.

I like em. The GXPs can run. The interior updated G6s look much better.

To the OP: Many of the people here are RWD fanatics, so dont expect many positive comments...

The G6 GXPs can run about as good as an obese person. It's a low 15s car. To put that into perspective, there's a buttload of SUVs, some not very sporty at all, that can run that fast. Some even faster.

If I wanted a car like that, I'd get a Mazda6 S for like 13k or less with low miles. Maybe a V6 Fusion/Milan/Zephyr/MKZ. They're all peppy, but they definitely aren't "fast".

But I digress, if price is your thing, and these were a "good deal" at 18.5, you could EASILY get a V6 G8 for that, and probably get a G8 GT without too much of trouble for that.

He is not getting one according to him...I personally also think they are jokes. Mainly because they look funny.

correct..i already have a g8 gt that i paid 18,500 for.
yes it was an ex fleet car with 7,000 miles but i love it.
i was just curious about the G6 gxp as i really havent heard anything about it.

i was going to buy a GP gxp (08 for 12,999)
it was a nice car...loved the heads up display and other features.
but then i found the g8 gt and was in LOVE!

Why would you buy that when you can get a HHR SS with 260 stock horses brembo brakes with the stage 1 kit from GM its 290 with just the kit no exaust, intake or tune. I have to say it i am a GM guy. A cobalt ss 2dr 4dr with brembo brakes same horses same kit as the HHR but lighter And faster. With the kits they are getting 20lbs pounds of boost.

I would have gotten the Mazdaspeed3 over the HHR SS. I like the Cobalt SS turbo. Its a nice car but cheap interior.

+1

If you have to go FWD...go for the MS3. The Cobalt SS is faster but...c'mon it's a Cobalt. I'd wait for a Cruze SS.

There is a new MS3 coming soon anyway.

I agree with you about the looks however you're wrong about the performance, they run high to mid 14's stock and with a tune low 14's.

I work in Lordstown at the Cobalt plant. I build the turbo motors. You won't see a Cruze ss till 2013. Stop building the turbos in Dec. Now i am working 1 week on 1 week off. Then in April it go's to 1 shift then i am done till further notice.

Sorry to hear that. When does the Cruze come online? It looks like a vast improvement over the Cobalt.

IMHO they screwed up the GXP when they used the 3.6L. That doesnt quite make it worthy of the GXP badge. The Camry, Accord, Altima, and Malibu's V6 are almost the same as the GXP. Same goes for the Avenger R/T.

Dont get me wrong though. I love the look of the GXP, and it drives real sporty. But i would take any other GXP in the lineup over it(yes, even the torrent GXP).

Can't say I've driven a G6 GXP, but I do have an '06 GTP coupe with the 'ol 3.9L V6 (240hp), and for the weight that thing is carrying around, I'd say it hauls pretty good. You can get a GXP without the whale tail spoiler if you don't like it.

My buddys got a 08 g6 gxp coupe. It rides really smooth i like it. Pretty quick as well, although I'd prefer a g8 v6 over it.
