Hey guys/gals, I'm planning to pick up a new '09 GT in the coming weeks and I'm curious as to what everyone in the Bay Area are paying. Please list the year, package, dealer, and roughly how much. Any help is appreciated. Thanks In advance

Test drove a G8 GT in Roseville but not impressed by the dealer. Might have caught them on an off day.. there is another in Elk Grove that has some discounts posted, but nothing close to what supporting dealers here on the board are showing. I've only seen 2 on the road, may be slow to catch on here in NorCal?

I just bought an 09GT, stryker blue, with everything, for $30,582 out the door.

I'd recommend calling Mazzei in Pittsburg. Ask for Linda Grohman. I got a no B.S. price over the phone and did the deal 2 days after.

I went to mazzei and they didn't want to deal on there last 08GT.Guess I didn't get the right person. I also hit up hilltop Pontiac and Dublin Pontiac and neither could get me an 08Gt with cloth OTD for less then 27K. ABel Pontiac in RIo vista offered to sell me one for 26900 OTD with cloth But I emailed Golden Hills auto center in Paso Robles and they sold me their last 08GT with leather for 25,599 OTD. He said since I wasn't local he wanted to earn my business Of course I had to drive 3-1/2 hours to get it. So shop around and never pay more then invoice minus rebates. I believe my dealer sold me mine 2k below invoice SO if a dealer wants a car gone they can get it gone.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm dealing with a couple dealers via email at the moment. But none of them are offering the deal I'm looking for. I'll be patience and wait for the right one to fall on my lap.

Anyone else with a good experience with dealers in the bay area?

'09 G8 GT with Premium and Sport packages (no sunroof) for $27,895+fees from Hilltop Pontiac in Richmond after $3000 rebate (I brought my own financing). I got email quotes for similar vehicles from Mazzei ($27,800 - but was the wrong color) and from Tracy ($29,329).

I got my 08 GT cloth no options for $29,400 OTD back in early Sept. 2008 from Fremont Pontiac/Buick/GMC. I thought that was a pretty good deal then. I'm kicking myself in the ass now for not waiting even longer seeing the current deals.

Capitol is gone/closed.

Capitol is gone/closed.
Dublin and Fremont are also both gone/closed... all three were owned by the same person. Last week Dublin still had inventory (~6 G8s), but by this weekend they were all gone (I think Marina got the black GXP they had).

Damn with all these dealers going down I gotta pull the trigger soon.

A dealer gave me an internet quote for a base model '09 GT for $26,xxx. I have yet to ask what incentives, if any, are included.

Hilltop was 0% or $3000 as of last weekend. I had my own financing, so didn't bother trying to get the 0% and rebate.

Best bet would be to speak with Linda Grohman (Internet Sales Mgr) in Pittsburg. Most of the dealers who have closed have sent their inventory to Pittsburg (Mazzei) because of their huge lot. They have lots of G8 GTs!
They have dealer certificates and I really got lucky. They had the exact car I wanted and the price I wanted. She's easy to talk to and no bs. I liked that. She gave me an extra 2k off the price with the dealer cash and I took the 0% financing for 60 months!

Tell Linda JOHN suggested you speak with her. I just picked mine up last week. IN THE RAIN!

Good luck,
RJ

Best deal offered so far is $26,xxx for a base model '09. I didn't ask if that's starting price or with incentives. I'll pull the trigger later this month. See you guys on the road soon.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of rate did you get on your financing and over what term?

My CU offers 5.7% for up to 72 months. Which I don't believe is that good of a deal. Especially with 0% floating around from GM.

PS: I was quoted <$32+TTL for a 09 GT loaded this weekend. I can either take an extra $3k off or the 0% from this point. I think I can do better.

I was at 5.25% up to 72mo when I walked in to buy, but after a long story... I'm going to be closer to 5.5% for 60mo. If I would have known what was going to happen with the loan that I was using to buy, I probably would have gone for the 0% rather than the cash back (or at least tried to work a deal/qualify, etc.).

Pentagon Federal CU (Penfed.org) has 3.99% new or used car loans. Not bad :)

Question about taking the 0% for you guys. I figure - if your Credit Union APR is roughly 5% - on a 30k loan that would cost you roughly $1500. So why would you not want to take the $3000 instead? Am I missing something obvious here?

Also, who is the 0% loan through - because didn't GMAC go out of business?

BTW, PenFed is a great deal but only for Government employees and armed forces, correct?

I checked out a loan payment calculator (http://www.efunda.com/formulae/finance/apr_solver.cfm) online (just one I found on google, so take it for whatever accuracy you want)

$30,000 car... minus $3000
$27,000 loan at 5% for 60mo ->
Monthly Payment: $509.52
Total Payment: $30,571.40
Interest Paid: $3,571.40

$30,000 loan at 0% for 60mo ->
Monthly Payment: $500.00
Total Payment: $30,000.00
Interest Paid: $0.00

So, the 5% on $27k costs $571.40 more than the 0% on $30k. If you were at 5.5% the difference is $943.88. Not a huge difference, but significant. Now, this doesn't take into consideration other things like down payment requirements (ie. if you needed to put 12.2% down to qualify for the 0% that may be hard if you are strapped for cash atm or don't have a valuable trade in).

I knew I was missing something obvious - being what the A in APR stands for :banghead: Annual = Duh!

Thanks very much for the help - makes much more sense now. I think I am going to try to qualify for the 0% because 5.49% doesnt really seem all that great.

What is the dealer cash I keep hearing about - is this separate from the $3000 incentive? Can i still get this if I go for the 0%.

Just got a quote from Putnam in Burlingame, CA. Seems a bit higher than all of the deals I have been seeing on the site. Is it just because I am in the Bay Area? Here it is:

Our credit union pricing is as a GM Supplier price. Sticker is $34,090.00 and the special price is $32,758.52 plus fees, before any rebates which are $3,000.00, and the price stays the same if you take the 0% financing.

I thought the supplier price was supposed to be a great deal (is this the invoice)? I was think it would be closer to $30k before incentives. Has anyone been able to get a price close to $30k in the Bay before incentives? I keep hearing people saying they are getting like $9k off of the MSRP...

Mid-Feb I was at $27,895 after $3,000... so $30,895 before incentives for '09 Prem+Sport w/o sunroof. If you were looking for the sunroof I'd expect the price to be a little (~$1k?) higher.

The price I was quoted was from the "Get a Quote" button on the dealer's website. I don't know if that would have made a difference... compared to over the phone or in person.

I also received a quote from Moore in Los Gatos - first for black on black of $30,525 before incentives and then $31,874 for silver/black the very next day before incentives. Of course just when I decided I want Silver/black, right? Don't understand why color would be $1,349 more. They both do not have moonroof. Just sent them an email. At least I can use this to see if Putnam will match?

What do you guys think GM incentives will do after the April 1? I have a tough choice - should I buy before CA sales tax increase and save $400 now - or wait and try my luck that GM offers an incentive AND 0% after April 1? Does any one think Incentives will go down? Just saw a mopar commerical you get incentive AND 0% so I would think GM would want to match that, no?
