We all know our beloved 04 GTO's were never marketed properly, so what do you think will be done differently? Whose the Target Market, how many do you think they'll move the first year?

Target market is families.

The music on Pontiac's website for the G8 should give an indication of the target market ("Cast No Shadow" by Seemless).

They will sell quickly. You better get 'em while they're hot.

Target market is families.

I would say the target is actually middle to upper middle-class males between 25-50 WITH families.

I dont know what kind of marketing tact they might take with this car. I would kind of like to see some commercials giving a crash course on Holden's racing history with the Commodore/G8 (ie, showing cars racing on a track, and maybe with an in car view, morph it to the G8's interior and show it attacking a winding road in similar fashion. Then pan to the back seat and show 2 kids wigh HUGE grins on their faces.

Keeping with the whole family thing, you could show typical suburbia. A kid, saying that he has to pay for a broken window comes out the front door and started to assemble what looks like a lemonade stand, but the sign he puts up says, "$1 to sit." They show a HUGE line of kids as the camera pans over and shows a G8 sitting in the driveway. The Dad looks out the window with this smile on this face. The next day the father and son are sitting at the same stand with the same line of kids, only this time the sign says "$1 to sit, $5 to ride." As 4 of them buckle up and the Dad takes them out for a ride.

I also think it would be cool if they had a lineup of cars (Camry, Accord, Avalon, etc) and then next to them is the G8. Professional drivers get in their respective cars and the FWD cars conservatively pull out while the G8 driver lights up its rear wheels.

As a more in your face ad- show the G8 at a stoplight and have a Charger pull up along side it. Have the driver of the Charger look at the G8 driver and ask him "Hey, that thing got a Hemi?" with a disapproving smirk. The G8 driver simply looks at him and says "No." The light turns green and the G8 leaved the Charger in the dust. :D

As for the more artful side of things, they could also do more classier commercials highlighting the stereo system, the 50:50 weight distribution.

Those are great. Way better than what I have seen on real commercials lately. The guy in the Charger should definately have a mullet :mullet: and such. The usual Dodge Charger guy.

It's GM.

They failed marketing the 4thgens. (I can count on one hand the times I saw ANY camarobird ad on TV)
They failed marketing the Goat. (Same here)
They'll **** up the marketing on this too. Somehow.
