Guys, thought you may be interested in this link. HAs a shot of a red G8 at the aussie launch. Same car was shown on local news going around holden proving ground at lang lang.
GT086 02-08-2007, 04:07 AM Thanks for the link. I have to say that I'm not that big a fan of the red but I've never really liked any car in red.
Lofty 02-08-2007, 04:15 AM Red's not my fav either. HAve to admit it did look pretty going around the high speed bowl with the sun shining on it though. Tried to find a link to the video, but there doesn't seem to be one. Was on the Channel 10 melbourne news incase anyone else has a way to find it.
PMD G8 02-08-2007, 04:58 AM Thanks. I knew more than one probably existed. I only see one photo, is that right?
speeddemon 02-08-2007, 05:15 AM not bad that red is nice
Lofty 02-08-2007, 05:55 AM Oh....& i forgot to mention that they said that full production will start in September. I imagine that will mean the first boats arriving in November or so.

Sounds like the same time table that the GTO's were on.
04IBM GTO 02-08-2007, 06:14 AM Nothing like a Winter release for your flagship RWD:soapbox:

I think red would have been better on the Chicago show car. It would photograph well. Thanks for the pic!!
LS1=SEG 02-08-2007, 10:12 AM Is that TR, or a new red?
The Stig 02-08-2007, 10:32 AM If those 5 spoke wheels are the standard or even sport rims on the G8- color me happy.
HUMBLER 02-08-2007, 10:44 AM Check this post, weick has several pics of the Red car...

Finally, some factory Aussie wheels that people will like. :gr_jest:
LS1=SEG 02-08-2007, 10:08 PM Hell yeah, man! Those rims are sweet. :judge:
speeddemon 02-08-2007, 10:09 PM those rims kick ass
isszy 02-08-2007, 10:11 PM Rims are SS-V rims - 19" standard, 20" optional. The colour is Red Hot which is what Torrid Red is called in Australia.

Not our fault that Pontiac decided to use rims that were designed for use on a pickup :bunny: :gr_jest: :aus_flag:

So we should blame the VY SS style wheels on the Ute for the Americans changing them? Damn trucks. :gr_jest:

yeah... we will see if those are the real wheels... The 2004 gto concept had the optional 18" wheels... then we got the VY SS 17" wheels standard.
I know the G8 is suppose to get 18" wheels standard... and those are 19"

Well, the press release from GM said that there would be a 19" option in the Sport package. Unless Holden designs a new set of wheels before they start '08 Commodore production, those should be the optional 19" wheels. Either that or they will make a completely new design just for the States (not likely).

True... They will pick an off the shelf wheel from holden... it's just which one.. There are several "optional" 18" wheels for VE's available at holden dealers.
I just want a clean 5 spoke 18" rim and i'll be happy. :)

:judge: totally!
LowTech1 02-13-2007, 10:17 PM I'm kinda mad you didnt hear much of the motor (in the test-lap video). It's almost like the guy was instructed to drive like Miz Daisy was in the back.
