: Hey Aussies - How does the first delivery make you feel ?
isszy 03-07-2008, 09:34 PM I for one am bursting with pride. Other than Asylum, who actually screws them together and maybe Olly who flogs them (or at least bits of them) most of us have very little to do with the process of getting the G8 to the US, but national pride is a pretty strong thing.
OK maybe I can stretch it - I install computer systems that run a number of OEM suppliers.
There are a couple of new Aussies here too - welcome guys. I see you have SS's - bastrds...

Isszy,
I'm also very proud of the boys at Holden, I know the American guys may think it sounds a little weird but hey, I dont care, I guess you have to be an Aussie rev head to really understand, hell I'm proud enough to sell both my Porsche 968 and my Benz to get one,
The last time I went home to Adelaide (five years ago) I drove my mates very tough VL walky commy and I had a ball, I also had a very fast VL turbo (EX highway patrol car) when I was younger which was also alot of fun, these cars have always been great and I really hope these guys will love them like we do, hell I even had some pretty quick Falcons in my time but i guess i have to keep that quite on this forum :wall:
The only thing I'm pissed about is having to wait for the manual to come out. In a way I'm glad because if pontiac had of bought out it in the G8GT I would have bought it and been really disapointed that I didnt wait for the GXP,
I'm comming home for a holiday next week so I guess I'll go down to the Holden dealer and test drive a VE SS so I'll have some idea of how the new car drives,
Scott,
looking forward to eat two meats pies on my way home from the airport.

Ahhh....the ol dogs eye and dead horse....still a winner.
Isszy.........I have a long history with Holden products and I really hope the VE>G8 adds another chapter to Holden's history............if it doesn't, I fear the good ol days of football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars will be over. I think it will hold it's ground for the time being and yes, i am happy to see the U.S. guys getting their chance to have a slice of aussie pie.

we've got "traveler" pies now, more of a sausage roll shape, so you can eat them while driving! hooray for innovation.
The General 03-10-2008, 05:14 AM Looking at how bezerk you Yanks are going over a Commodore, I'm bloody proud. I hope you guys all get the cars you want in the combo you want and enjoy your asses off. Best bang for ya buck on the road.
Love it.
G8>550i 03-10-2008, 12:16 PM From the American perspective, I say congrats to the Aussies! It's like seeing your favorite cousin get an award, instead of the scowling kid with the German accent. Thanks for sharing the trophy (car) with us and keeping the price sweet.
hoover 03-18-2008, 07:09 AM I work at Elizabeth (assembly plant). Were all over the moon on how well the car is being received in the US. look forward to sending you the ute next year.

macca33 04-30-2008, 06:10 AM As an Australian, I feel proud that we can produce a car that is able to hold its own on the world stage, whilst actually filling niches that are vacant in some markets. A V8 engined, RWD family car that is very affordable, seats five in comfort and rockets along - who could want more!!!
Cheers,
Macca
