Just wanted to start it off. If you are in market for a G8 in the Dallas metroplex share what dealer your considering and what they are offering. That way others here can get similar deals.

Brassil from g8gt said this

Hey guys I just found out that we have 5 G8's in transit!!!

One of em is a V6, and the other 4 are GT's. One of those GT's just sold today. It was a Black Panther GT, with 18" wheels, comfort and sound package and a sunroof.

There's also a Hot White in the 3 that are left. I'm not sure of the colors of the other 2. I will find out and keep you guys posted. If anyone is interested, shoot me an e-mail at:
alanbari3@gmail.com

or call me at my cell at 214-549-1543.

Our dealership is located off of 121 and 75. Lonestar Pontiac Buick GMC. Let me know if you're interested!!!

I figured i would let a fellow forum follower out with a sale if the price is right.

GMS right???

I get the GM supplier Discount so gmid would be correct.

from what ive read

the difference is GMS is about 4 1/2% less than the gmid/supplier.

But i dont know how valid that statement is.

25 to the Dallas area. Not bad. Only 3 are making it to the Killeen/Waco area and both of those towns are 40 miles from me.... :( Oh well, gives me more time to save for the car.

GXP was just announced. I for one would love to have the LS3 engine in my future ride. But what gives only 40hp more?

The wheels on it i think are amazing. Wonder what other changes it will have other than the front fascia.

If the price of these are only 3-4k more i would like to think of myself as getting one.

Classic in Arlington has two of them now. Both are 888 GT's with the sport package. One white, one black and they look fantastic. The sales woman (Nancy McCoy) was kind enough to have the service manager put one up on a lift so I could measure and photograph the exhaust to develope the G8's H-Pipe and axleback systems.

I need a prototype car so if anyone in DFW wants free exhaust, PM me. My work can be found all over this board: www.ls2gto.com under the screen name "StolenFox"

Well, I've been trying to be the first kid on the block with this new toy, but no luck. Jerry's in Weatherford showed 2 units on the locator, but I can't get anybody to call me back to see if they sold. I called 2 weeks ago, and they said they had deposits down.

I saw a transport leaving GM's yard in Grand Prairie with 2 GT's this morning, so expect to see some shortly.

I bought Jerry's 888 the day it came in (3/12). :turbonaughtdy_1:It was pure luck. i was talking with Jerry's, Frank Kent (sold before i could get over there) and Allan Young. Allan Young didnt know anything about the car, but showed to be getting a grey 888 with only the premium package. Frank Kent is getting more in around May or June...one is black with a sunroof.

Clay cooley had 2 888s in Desoto Tx.

But they wanted an additional 1,995 for dealer addons.

Which made the car 33500 or something near there. What addons did they do.. NO IDEA the window sticker didnt say/specify.

Cashed
03-25-2008, 08:06 AM
What addons could they have done on an 888? tint the windows? if it is a $1995 tint job, i gotta see that. sounds like they are just trying to make money off of the car. that sucks. especially since i wish more DFW people were 888 owners.

I have to wait till January 09 to by mine so no 888 for me. I live East of Dallas in Forney. Refinancing the house is more important to my wife for some reason. Cant wait to trade in the Tahoe for a car again. I have been waiting a long time for a new 4 door GM car with rear wheel drive a V8 with some power and under 35K at the sametime being big enough for my family. I thought I was going to have to buy a Chrysler product (charger/300/Magnum) but didnt want to as I am a GM loyalist.

I didnt mind the fact that the G8 only came as an auto since I have a 40 mile one way commute to work down the dreaded Hwy 199 every day. 25 miles of that drive is stop and go. If I did drive a manual, I would have a REALLY strong left leg. Now, if my G8 was a weekend car, I too would wait for a manual...

When I bought mine last Wednesday (March 26) they had 4 888 GTs and I think three 888 V6s.

Of the GTs they had one red (in the showroom), one white, and two black. One of the black ones had red seat inserts, one did not. I bought the black one without the red inserts.

I saw a guy there that Wednesday getting a black GT. Was that you? It was in the afternoon. I had to go back because the guys in the back did a terrible job of removing the protective stickers GM uses during transport. The car in the showroom was orange and was a GT but no sport package and not an 888. I've spend WAY too much time at that dealer. LOL Had to go back Friday to get their scratch guy to remove a couple of minor scratches.

Are there any dealers that you guys would recommend? The only place that returned my request for a quote was a dealer a ways away, and they wanted $680/month for 84 months. That included a $15k "lease termination fee"! Yeah, $57k for a Pontiac. Sorry, but I'll take the Mercedes C63 for that price.

I've recently sent quote requests in to Sewell(no response after 1 week), Clay Cooley, and Snell Pontiac. Clay Cooley and Snell I sent in today, so maybe I'll get something in a few days. Thanks guys.

Frank Kent in Fort Worth and Jerrys in Weatherford have been helpful to me in the past (GTO from Frank Kent - fair deal) (truck and G8 from Jerry's. Paid sticker on G8 and they even held it for me with no deposit. Got it 3/12...the day it landed at the dealer)

Both dealers had G8s as of Friday. Talk to Adam Lawarnce (internet sales) at Jerrys. Easy to do business with.

Be careful with Frank Kent screwing you on a trade. Jerry's is MUCH better, but won't honor GM S pricing yet. Jerry's still has 2 GT's, but both have nasty hail damage.

In the apartments across from me i spotted it from about 4 blocks away driving into the parking structure.

I told my GF it was a G8 and she goes how can you tell from here, i said i just know the car i want. So we walked over and checked it out. I thought i was wrong because we got to the 3rd floor of the garage and no G8 but a white BMW! I seriously thought maybe i was mistaken. So we turned the last corner and bam! a white G8 GT was parked right in the middle!

I work at Ewing Buick Pontiac GMC in Plano and we currently have 1 V6 G8 in the dark gunmetal gray color and the word from the management is that sometime soon we should have 2 GT's. According to the manager I asked one is black and he couldn't remember the other color. If you go in or call to get more details they'll let you put a refundable deposit down on one before they hit the ground so you have first dibs to them. You can come in and ask for Joe (that's me) or call 972-964-7400 my extension is 2806. I'll do whatever I can to take care of you. If you have any questions call or hit me with a PM.

Putting a deposit down just confirms why I won't buy from E***g. I tried to purchase a Envoy from E***g several years ago and the salesman dropped the ball by not getting the vehicle in from another dealer. Next day I found the vehicle myself and purchased from the other dealer.
Back in May I stopped by E***g on 635 to look at a G8 GT. Found a salesman and he would not let me drive the car until he made a copy of my drivers license, I said BS. Then I told him I wanted a sunroof and XM. He then wanted to sell me a car on the lot and he said XM and a sunroof could be added and I told him I don't want a car that has been cut on and I could wait on an '09, he then lost interest on selling me a car.
Next day I went to C*****c, was greeted by a salesman, told him I was going to purchase an '09 GT, he ask if I had driven one and I said no. He then grabbed the keys to a '08, said "here you drive" I took it for a spin and really liked the car. We exchanged business cards, I e-mailed him the color and configuration I wanted. I recieved an e-mail confirming three cars had been tagged and I would get the first one that came in. Now that's customer service!!!
I will say that Ewing on Plano Parkway does have the best service department I've had dealings with.

I work at the Ewing on Plano Parkway, and it's unfortunate that you had a bad experience with the other store, but it is company policy to have a copy of a customer's driver's license before allowing them to drive a car. We have to make sure that you have a valid driver's license and they also want to know who their salespeople are out driving with should something happen. It is my understanding that in the past it had happened several times that car salesmen were essentially car jacked while on test drives and the logic being that a copy of a customer's driver's license is not only a deterrent but a means of identification of an individual should something happen.

As far as deposits, it is just to hold the car for you and make sure you have first crack at it when it hits the ground.

I make a new car purchase every 3 or 4 years and have been doing so for the last 35 years and have never been asked for a DL copy or putting down a deposit on any vehicle. The last two I purchased were over the phone and from out of state without a deposit.
Like I mentioned before Ewing has a great service dept and I will be using them for warranty and service.

Just as an FYI, the sales manager at Ewing Buick Pontiac GMC in Plano has a white G8 GT at Torqued Autosports getting pedders suspension, wheels, and exhaust. He's going to put it on display this Saturday and if it doesn't sell he's going to drive it around as his demo car. It should be a pretty sweet ride if anybody wants to come see it.

Got my 2009 Pacific Slate Blue G8 GT with sunroof, premium package, and sport package at Jerry's a month ago. Parents know a lot of people there so they let us take a G8 out on our own and bring it back at our leisure. Didn't like the red they had and was informed they were getting this one in but hadn't seen it (just the color chip). They said they would hold it and notify us when it came in. Bought it essentially right off the rail car; odometer read 12 miles after my test drive of it.

Had gotten my master's degree in Dec. 06 so got dealer pricing and also used my fiancee's GM card to get an extra $1k knocked off (probably could have gotten more b/c the person at the GM card said the 09's weren't in the system yet but oh well). So when it all came to pass the final cost was around $32-33k with an extended warranty. Good thing too...XM hasn't worked yet and apparently is due to a bad antenna.

not so much on the wheel choice, but I really like the stance. I like the wheel/tire size.

Hope to see it riding down the road...soon!

How can this be a "new" car with 557 miles.
One of a kind... "White Lighting" edition, more dealer marketing BS.

It's the General Sales Manager's demo, it's never been titled, so as far as the government is concerned it is a new car, and as of right now it is one of a kind. White Lightning is just a name they came up with for the car. Chill out.

Ok, now you admitted it's not new and is a demo (I don't care what the government thinks). There is no reason any new car should have more than 6-7 miles on the clock. I picked up my '09 in San Antonio the week before last with 2.36 miles. I wrote a check for $33,444.16, car was full of gas, and 20 minutes later I was on the road back to Dallas. Salesman also threw in a $100 Shell gas card. This was the best new car experience I've had in years, even the business manager was nice and did not try to sell any extra BS stuff. Now it's your turn to Chill Out.

Above is the very first post I made about this car. I never hid the fact that it is a demo. As far as your expectations for a new car, that's fine. You don't have to buy it if you think it has too many miles, I'm just trying to let people see what a G8 GT looks like with some work done to it.
