: Pacific Northwest Report In!
BBBBGXP 03-08-2008, 09:33 PM This is a great idea! Keep the various areas up to date with what is happening in their specific region. With that in mind, has anyone in the PNW/Seattle/Tacoma area driven or even seen a G8? I can't even find a dealer that knows when they are getting one. Open up out there! Let's work together to help each other get the best deals for the best G8s!:boink:
Pushing_Tin 03-09-2008, 03:25 AM I'm down in Eugene and my dealer has no clue when one comes in. They have my number and are supposed to call when they get one. I do know that I will be waiting until at least the 09s come in to get the options that I want.
BBBBGXP 03-09-2008, 09:49 PM I heard back from an email inquiry off the Pontiac site from Bellevue dealer who said they had G8s on order, but nothing "on the ground". He had no time frame to quote as to when they'd get cars either. Seems like the "smile states" are getting priority, for whatever reason, besides Maximum Bob's designating them as the "chosen" ones!:sneaky:
BBBBGXP 03-09-2008, 11:21 PM Just checked Vehix.com on a hunch from another post and found there is a white G8 GT at Willamette Autogroup in Salem. Don't know how long it will last so if you're interested suggest you give them a call or email them.:gears:

Thanks for the info, but I really want the new blue for MY 09, plus the options not available on the 08s. For now I'll suffer driving my 2007 Accord V6.
BBBBGXP 03-19-2008, 09:33 PM Found two GTs available at Valley Pontiac and since it was only 10 miles down the road, ran over this afternoon to see what was up. They had the two GTs, one a gray 888, the other a non-888 in red. The markup over MSRP on the 888 was $10K and the markup on the non-888 was $7.5K!!! The 888 didn't even have the Sport package and they were asking over $41K for it! I told a rep in a suit that 6 months from now and that 888 on the dash wouldn't mean anything and he replied, "yeah, but it does now". After driving the non-888, bringing the mileage to almost 50 miles, they asked if I was interested. To which I responded that I wanted a 2009 in Sport Red Metallic, so no thanks. They didn't know they were not getting anymore 2008 over what were already on the way, and that they could start "tagging" 2009s in May or June. In fact, the sales manager couldn't get away from me fast enough, running off to help a new customer as soon as he figured out I knew more about the G8s than he did! So in keeping with our pledge, DON'T PAY OVER MSRP you might want to keep the above in mind.:turbonaughtdy_1:
r.penguin@comcast.net 03-21-2008, 01:54 PM Seattle area finally reporting in with G8 GT 888 #748. MSRP ($31,785.00) picked up 3/15/08. Already have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires on. Slight mods to exhaust and air intake. Goes in for dyno yune next week.

Hey Pen, welcome back! As you see, found a G8 down here in the southend and took it for a spin. As you also see was a place I will steer clear of when ordering my '09! Sounds like you are spending all the corporate profits on the new car! Been waiting for someone from the Puget Sound area to get on and let us know what's happening with their G8, but so far you're it! Hopefully you have opened the flood gates!

Let's hope so. The offer of a test drive when you can swing by still stands. But, the G8 is evolving almost daily. By the time I see you you might have to force yourself to drive the 400+ HP version. :stickpoke:

As I mentioned in my last email, schedule sucks for a daytime road trip to the northend. May try it some Sat/Sun soon when the weather is cooperating so there will still be some sun by the time we get up there! Don't think I will be doing the GXP as the talk is for $40K price range. More than what I would pay for gofast, stopfast, cornerfast, and some stitching on the "upgraded" seats! They've got to come up with a lot more than that to get my $40K! Had all the *fasts in my 2002 Camaro SS. Beyond that being a selling point now. As I've been saying on here on the forum regarding the subject of the GXP's content, WHERE'S THE BEEF?. :dunno:
JAWDRPNG8 03-24-2008, 12:30 AM WHy wait for a GXP? YOu can get all the power with just a few mods now for alot less than a GXP will cost.
NOr cali has tons of G8s...let me know if you want one

Could be getting snapped up quick as they get them? Try a locate vehicle search on Pontiac.com for your area. Vehix.com lists them too. They're out there, Seattle area has lots of V6s and a smattering of V8s. The dealers with markup over MSRP are still sitting on some too. When you called, did you ask if they had gotten any at all? Or just if they had some in stock? Also, you could contact the internet rep for the dealership, they will know for sure if they have any, whereas the yoyo answering the phone may not even know what they are! Good luck!

They might be getting sold, although one dealer I asked said they had sold one. I'd think they'd have at least some V6's in Portland. There are 2 V8's in Salem according to vehix.com (thanks for the website!) so maybe this weekend I will drive down.
davefr 03-28-2008, 04:50 PM I just picked up my black G8 GT at Autotown in Portland. They are getting another one identical to mine early next week.
Call Kimo Pope and tell her Dave F. referred you. She'll do straight MSRP without any markups.
GigaHz 03-28-2008, 05:33 PM Congrats. How long did that take?
I drove a Magnetic Gray Metallic V6 at Kirkland Pontiac on the 22nd and a White Hot GT this past Saturday at Brotherton in Renton. They also had an identical V6 that Kirkland had. I still haven't seen one on the road yet though.

Haven't seen any either. I know they are out there, but seeing as there are so few, you'd have to be extremely lucky to see one on the road.
2008G8 04-02-2008, 12:22 AM I finally drove one at the Beaverton, OR dealer. The car is really fast! It's definately on my list. Does the steering wheel seem overly large to anyone else?
DaveR_HRT 04-07-2008, 12:38 PM It's big in an interesting way. The rim is more oval than round to me, which doesn't feel as comfortable as a large wheel should.

Ackattack 04-25-2008, 09:33 PM I drove a G8 GT yesterday. I'm impressed to say the least. I might just have pick one up in a few months. (maybe about Sept. when there always seems to be bigger rebates on the past years models as the new ones come in)
DragoonRaven 05-05-2008, 08:01 PM Hello all (first post on these forums). Just bought my Magnetic Grey G8 GT (#2953, build date 1/11/08 according to the factory build sheet) this past Saturday right off the showroom floor from Haselwood Pontiac in Bremerton, Washington, for supplier price -- military freaking discount, was $30,361 with Premium Package. 100 miles exactly on the clock, though around 30 of those were from test drives from either me or my wife.
I would love to be able to say I was the first to get it but there was a black GT sold a couple days before mine. They still have a red GT and a grey base, somehow. How did my podunk dealership get 4 G8s and nobody else seems to have gotten much of any? Strange.
It's cool to be the first kid on the block with one of these. I'm fairly certain I'm responsible for a few dozen snapped necks and whiplash cases from double takes. Almost everybody I see gives one of two reactions, which are no reaction at all, or shock and awe.
Drag times coming Friday. Yes, we are taking it to the strip before we even have license plates. Life is good. :)
SteveXKR 05-05-2008, 08:42 PM Hey DragoonRaven
I bought mine there.. but that was a month ago :) Hope to see you driving around here. Would be nice to see another one on the road (so far i've seen "0" on the road, and only had 1 guy look at it and say "nice car".. guess the black is too stealthy haha)
oh and when I was there to pickup my plates about 2 weeks ago they had at least 2 other black ones sitting there (V6's i THINK...). Guess they must've sold them already
DragoonRaven 05-06-2008, 12:59 AM Yeah, yours isn't the one I saw at the dealership I believe. Which is weird, the other black one that got sold before mine wasn't an 888, but one of the sales guys told me I got the 2nd one ever sold from their dealership. Maybe they were just misinformed.
I saw a black one on Wheaton Way yesterday. I'm glad I got mine in the grey instead -- you can lose a lot of the details in the blacknes.
SteveXKR 05-06-2008, 01:21 PM hmm yeah maybe they're a little confused about what's been sold, or maybe they meant 2nd GT sold?? who knows.. I've only dealt with Ray Parks & Bobby Barnes over there and they seemed to know what end was up :)

MissNaySimon 05-07-2008, 03:37 PM Reporting in - All my G8 Stats have already been mentioned.
SteveXKR 05-07-2008, 04:44 PM Welcome :)
DragoonRaven is one lucky guy to have his wife actually enjoy the car. Mine HATES it with a passion for some reason (though she never actually has even sat in it...)
MissNaySimon 05-07-2008, 06:39 PM We came to a mutual agreement that yes, the car is nice. :)
In case anybody's wondering, the only "fully loaded" G8 GT in the Seattle area is down at Valley in Auburn... and they want a $7K market adjustment. Actually, it was in the showroom when I arrived this afternoon but had been moved outside when I returned from driving one of their "regular" GTs, so perhaps somebody bent over and bought it.
MissNaySimon 05-09-2008, 11:23 AM Yikes. There was one up here at Haselwood that they wanted 38k for, because they added some wheels on it..
and some dude actually bought it.

Obviously not someone that reads this forum! We all have always been steadfast in our effort to have everyone pay no more than MSRP!
MissNaySimon 05-09-2008, 10:45 PM Lol, I guess he didn't. We've only seen it once, and I'm pretty sure it was an older guy. I doubt I'll see him out at the track with me anytime soon.

You already running your G8 at the track? Whatever happened to going easy on it for the first 500 miles?
MissNaySimon 05-09-2008, 11:33 PM We did. We're over 600 now.
BBBBGXP 05-10-2008, 06:54 PM So what are you waiting for, pour the coals to the fire!! You go get it girl!
MissNaySimon 05-10-2008, 09:10 PM Gotta wait until next weekend. Hubby will be out of town, leaving me all alone with the car. :P
Dayzed50 05-25-2008, 11:42 PM just givin some love to all the local G8 owners. picked mine up from pontiac of kirkland at the end of march, and I'm loving it more than ever! I live up here in marysville. sure would be nice to see some more on the road in this area, I've only heard of one other spotting in the everett area. take care guys
Hey guys,
We are having a Pedders Day at NORPAC. Will have a lot of GTOs there, and would be fun to have some of the G8 community there as well.
The G8 has been a pretty cool ride so far. The only general comment we have had was the excess body role, and some suspension noises.
We are looking to do some training at NORPAC for some G8 stuff. Now that there are some G8s up north, maybe one of you would like to have a major suspension upgrade performed.
Hope to see some G8s
If you have any questions, give me a shout

Silvereagle 08-21-2008, 01:16 PM I believe I'm one of the very 1st G8's in the state of MT since they haven't started to show up on dealer lots yet......I got mine in northern panhandle of Idaho Aug 2nd.
I only saw 2 other G8's on the whole vacation trip I did to SoCal...........a hot white and a black one.....was too far away to tell wether it was base or GT?
strykerGT 08-22-2008, 04:59 PM I test drove a black 08 in McMinnvile, actually I put 40 miles on it, then looked at a sweet ignition orange in Portland, out on stark but ended up buying a 09 stryker blue in Mc, it is currently at the Portland rail yard waiting
strykerGT 09-04-2008, 10:18 AM Finnaly got one, fun to drive in the PNW, I love hte windies..."the shortest didstance isn't always a straight line"
BBBBGXP 09-04-2008, 11:26 AM There are straight line roads in the PNW???? I haven't found any in WA yet, and I've been here for over 20 years! But there are plenty of "windies"!
strykerGT 09-04-2008, 12:41 PM funny, I had relatives out from Michigan, we went to Multnomah falls via the scienic route, they were car sick and asked if we had any straight roads here in "Orgon"
BBBBGXP 09-04-2008, 03:37 PM  The closest we get up here is I-5 and the straightest part of that is the ten miles between Tacoma and the SEATAC airport turnoff. Some up and down hill, but basically straight. There also is a stretch between Moses Lake and Spokane. Everything else I've found has curves. Highways up here must have been laid out by women with all these curves!:gr_jest::gr_jest::gr_jest:
