I'm in San Antonio, and all the dealers around here are still clueless about when they might get one.

Im in Houston, I'm waiting for a GXP or at least waiting on a manual GT, I've called the stealer three times for more or any info and all I get is I'll call you back, which never happens. I think I'll try another stealer. who are you dealling with ???

I have been working with Beck and Masten by Hobby. He has been decent to work with. They have 3 coming (with one of them going to their FM1960 store). The two going to the Hobby store have prem and sport packages and are 888's. One is red, one is black (the black one is spoken for :-) ) The other one is black, but does not have the sport package. He hasn't given me a firm date of when they will be in, though.

As of yesterday they had one left, a red one on the showroom floor for $34k.

Cool. Beck & Masten has already received and sold a red one, but my wife wants black. The black one is still on the rail, but should be here soon. I am disappointed to hear that Gay has marked them up.

Typical... But what can you do when you want one of the "First 888". Can't just drive 5 minutes down the road to the next dealer at this point. But everythings good and I'm happy :D

And the guy's at Gay Pontiac sure were pushing HARD for a "Very Satisfied", telling me that anything less than that is a failure on the survey Gm sends out...

I doubt it will do anything, but I am going to score them how I see fit, and it won't be "Very Satisified" with the dealer.

If you paid more than sticker, then I would not rate them as very satisfied, either. Not to mention that I would ding them for pushing you so hard about the survey. I guess you can ask them how much you being "very satisfied" is worth to them :D I have not heard very many good things about Gay.

I am looking forward to mine getting here. Just have to be patient for a little while longer....

Depending on date and time I'd be game. Been a LONG time since I had any type of affiliation with any car group. Last time was in '98-'99 when I had my '94 B-Body.

Did you get the black and red seats?? My wife wanted them, I didn't.. But the dealership had one with the red/black interior so she got her way. But the more I walk outside and wipe the car down every 5 minutes, the more I fall in love with 'em.

Nope. Got the all black. My wife wasn't too sure about them and I thought they looked cool, but the car that came in was all black, so that kind of decided for us. I am as pleased as punch.:cool: The red and black is pretty cool, IMO. The car at the autoshow had them and looked nice.

I am not familiar with the meeting details for a GTO GTG, but post them and I will see what my schedule looks like. I am a total car nut, so I would like to come out anyway. Besides, hopefully there will be enough G8s soon for a G8 meeting....

As for GTO GTG's, yeah, I'd be happy to post some up here next time we have a big one in Houston. Summer is coming around, people should be getting out more. (Bad news is... I'll probably be leaving the country this summer :( )

In the mean time there's a nice classic car meet on the Southwest side at Otto's off of 59 every Saturday evening. A few of the local GTO Guys & Gals usually go out there.

As for a club, well we have our officall - Unoffical club - The Houston Goat Heard or just the HGH. No dues, no presidents, just folks hang'n out! If you go on to ls1gto.com (sister site to this one) and check the Texas section, you'll see lots of guys posting stuff. Overall its a hell of great community and I'm betting the G8 one will be a fine one also!

PS - DANGER, if you come out and see a few of the modded GTO's it can get expensive!!! That's an LSX series motor in there you can "do stuff" to those things :wall:

Sounds like fun. There is also a big car get together at the Target in Kemah on Saturday nights and one in League City on Friday nights (I think those days are correct). I already have some mods I would like to do after break-in (500 miles). Not sure what the time frame will be though. Would like to do exhaust, CAI and a tune and that will be it.

Bad news is... I'll probably be leaving the country this summer :(

Oh yeah, the Kemha meet is nice one in the summer. We've gotten up some pretty good HGH cruises to end up over there in the past.

As for leaving.... Well looks like work (Oil Field Service Co) is going to take me overseas. Norway to be exact (full ex-pat). Dont' know timing... Gotta go offshore (tomorrow) and do a job before I can visit with our ops guys but I'm pretty sure I'll outta hear come July.

Your car drives GREAT! I know, I took a test drive the first thing after they got it out of make ready. :thumbsup: Sorry dude, but I didn't dog it, just did a 40-60 punch a couple of times.

I may have really considered buying it, but I wasn't going to pay for the dealership extras such as sketched windows etc.

Your car is exactly like I would have ordered it, and my wife and I loved the seats.

We went by there today coming back from Texas City to Pasadena, but we didn't see the car outside, so I figured someone quickly picked it up. IMHO, the red one is too RED, but would be perfect for a fire chief.

Looking for a car in another year or so, most likely the G8 GXP or new Challenger.

I'm hoping to get mine in May sometime, if I do pick it up it is hopefully going to be a SEMA show car. I am working close with a local shop in houston if everything goes well there will be a mass produced turbo kit for the G8 V8. Last time I was at Ron Carter in Alvin (two weeks ago, I think) they had a loaded Metallic Grey on the lot.

I have now seen two G8's on the road in Houston, a black one and a white one, both going along eldridge between 529 and I-10, they look really good on the road.

I must say I was going to order a black GXP as soon as I can but after getting a look at the White Hot G8 yesterday Im thinking a white Hot GXP would look stunning.

I saw a black GT in the parking lot at Target on Bay Area Blvd (Clear Lake area) tonight parked right across from me. He left before I could get to the car. This is the first one I have seen on the road!!

I just spotted a liquid red GT on Saturn in the Clear Lake area (right in front of JSC) with tinted windows at about 7:45 am. It is nice to finally see a couple driving around.

Saw a red gt at huffmeister and fluer de lis (bonnaire pool) I was the QSM GTO. Looked great.

I saw an IOM V6 G8 (judging from the exhaust tips) at El Dorado and I-45 tonight at about 6:45 pm. It was cloudy. I am disappointed I did not get to see it in the sunlight. It still had the Gay Pontiac plastic plate on it (the temp plate was in the back window).
