I brought my G8 in for service over 8 times since October, you've probably seen me a few times, and never once got a G8 back, even after i requested it.

I purchased at Sellers GMC Farmington Hills.

I work for Westland Pd. but got my G8 in grandville, Mi since they were the only dealer I could find that would give me an acceptable amount for my 01 saleen s281 S/C, I traded for the G8. Ive had the G8 for about 3 months, since have went with the VMS tune & roto-fab this month, Love the car. I pass Red Holman everyday I work and occassionally browse the lot while patroling. Look foward to meeting other fellow G8 owners here in S/E Michigan and browsing this website.

Not really what I wanted, they gave me $21,000 for my 01 s/c convertible w/ 27,000 miles pending the purchase of the G8. In this market/Michigan its probably about right. A year or two ago, It would of sold closer to 24-28k. I had it for sale locally but no bites. Probably would of had more luck if i sold it at my parents home in Florida where the demand for a convertible is higher.

Red Holman is a ****ty dealer, I bought my G8 there and every time I have a problem they don't want to fix it. I have a paint problem the blamed it on me but Tennyson Chevy fixed the paint problem for me no prob, key fob fell apart Red Holman wouldn't replace it but Bob Jeannotte Pontiac replaced it no problem. That Fisher guy who is the service manager is the biggest dick in the world, that dealer ship and others like it is part of the reason GM has gone to hell. My next car buy after my experience with Red Holman may not be a GM. I hope Holman gets shut down.

I had a Evo 8 I modded a ton to the point where I had to get rid of it because I needed a less modded daily driver/baby hauler. I had two different turbos on the evo in two years with my last a Fp green, was a fun car. I just did the vector intake/tune about a month ago, and love it. I was lucky when I found out Vector was only 15 mins away too. I had to travel to Ohio for the Evo upgrades.

I plan on De badging mine this month and thinking about putting some black machined lip ruff racing r281's on. How easy was the De Badging ? What do you Michiganders think about the ruff racing r281's black ??, my cars white. I m between those and the silver breyton's maybe black, but the breytons look awful dark in black looking at them on tirerack.com crappy photos.

Your car looks sweet with those rims. You pass by Westland P.d. since I see you live in/near canton ? Would you mind pm'ing me your contact info, would be cool if I could check those rims out while its (IF its) slow at work. I'll throw out a SE Michigan dealer to not buy from. Bob Saks.

Bought it Feb 28th, still don't have a permanent plate, they won't return my phone calls or e-mails. They let me drive away on tires with 55lbs of pressure in the tires (I didn't know better, thought low profile maybe needed a lot, until I read here that's not right) and they used deceptive sales tactics.

Never make your purchase decission because the dealership is close.

I bought my g8 new from Fresard. I wasn't too happy with my experience there. A couple things here and there that bothered me. The main thing was that i found out later on that my car had rear suspenion work done months before I took delivery.

I'm not too happy about their service department either. I took my car there to fix a rattle I was hearing in the front suspenion. The service guy agreed that there was a rattling sound when I took him for a ride. They ended up keeping my car for three days, and told me that there was nothing they could do since the tech could not recreate the sound.

I'm currently taking my car to ed rinke in warren to get serviced.

yes i do, i like the quietness of it with having an infant in the back seat. I put a turbo back - magnaflow on my evo and it shook the backseat during idle, was upset i wasted 900+ back then... only thing i would probably ever do is headers and maybe cats, but plan on keeping stock mufflers/tails.

I bought my G8 from Harold Zeigler in Grandville, mi (West side/near kalamazoo). They were jerks and arrogant, my financing was through USAA (For Military Families) and USAA gives you a blank check to give to your dealership of choice. Well I went all they way out there for it was the only white with roof red/blk seats deal I could find in November 08. When I handed them the check they acted as if I was a criminal and looked at it funny stating "i havent see one of these in awhile"..looking at as if i made it on my computer. I was also trading in my 01 s/c saleen convertible that they again acted as if I was bringing them stolen property for a trade. They had to call usaa 3 times because my sales guy wasnt sure he wanted to release the car to me without going the extra mile to make sure the funds were being transfered. He also asked me if Ive ever bought a car using this blank check print out paper before, and i told him your number 4, your funds will be transfered. His manager who had more experience told his sales guy everything will be fine with the funds, dont worry. Ive never had such a skeptical sales guy ever. I guess i should of wore my suit and not my groch o marks glasses...JK...instead of my sweats..hahaha. Never would i buy from them again.

I'm not saying they're perfect, but atleast they tried to fix my issue. I'm still getting the rattling noise after their fix. I'm hoping if I bring this thread up there, http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12632, they'll follow the suggestions posted. What service department are you currently taking your g8 to?

Well, in the opposite of your treatment, I have been getting good service at Fresard. Before that, I took it to a Chevy dealer to get one problem fixed after getting fed up with Rinke.

It wasn't that they were rude or indifferent, or that they didn't fix the car when they worked on it. But they would call me in saying a part had come in (after a month), I take time off work, and guess what? No part. Multiple times, for different problems. Wait three weeks or a month, get a call, show up - no part. I've ordered parts from Fresard, and when they say it's there, it's there.

The last straw was when I brought it in for a problem with OnStar. I figured they would have to replace the OnStar module, so I didn't expect it to be fixed that day. But they called me up and said it was done. Drive away and OnStar doesn't work. Call them up and ask if a part is on order, and they tell me "if it's not on your work order, we didn't order a part". Well, it's not on my work order - just the oil change/tire rotation and "adjusting" the antenna for OnStar.

So I give up on them and go to a Chevy dealer that worked on my previous car (won't say who, it was told to me they could get into trouble doing Pontiac warranty work). They try to order me a new OnStar module (after checking the old one) and guess what? They can't, because Rinke has ordered one with my VIN! So when were they going to tell me? I had the Chevy dealer transfer it from Rinke and do the work (it's not like you need to be trained on a Pontiac to change an OnStar module!).

I had a great experience as far as parts being ordered at Rinke. They informed me that part was ordered, and they should have it in a week. Sure enough, I received a call from them a week later about the part being in. And it was there like they said.

Never had a problem with parts being order at Fresard, but kinda bugged me how they would send a note in the mail about a part being in instead of calling me personally.

I'm going to stop by gm sellers before work and see if they can fix my rattling suspension.
