I would add that if you change maximumCount parameter to 50, you can have up to 50 listed in one query. 200 miles may be the maximum search radius.

It was encouraging to find mine on your list #287 with the right color, engine, interior and state. Now all it needs is the right zip code. Has been on train, I'm told, since Feb 27. Wish they had UPS shipment tracking on those trains.

Someone at solsticeforum was able to actually track train shipments. But it might discourage instead of encourage you - since rail cars get coupled and uncoupled waiting on consists and may actually sit more than they move.

Thanks for the GM Buypower link. Editing in the zip code works great since G8 is still not in the pull down menu from the main site.

Does anyone know when a vehicle shows up at GM buypower? Is it upon shipment out of Benecia or receipt by the dealer??

Certainly not upon arrival as most of te hunits in eastern US are still in transit.

So far 744 of 888 of the first 888 are accounted for. If you know of any I have not found please let me know so we can have a more complete registry. Thanks, Cajun. I saw all the work that went into a list like this when the first 1000 Solstices were built. Of course there was advance knowledge of VINs prior to delivery, IIRC.

What this list allows pre-purchase is the ability of members to find by locale what they are looking for and then perform their own localized search to find the dealer. I have dealer's names in my list but felt at present it wasn't prudent to print them online. I haven't had time to ask, but it would be an admin call to publish the dealer name with the vehicle as it could be considered free-advertising. Of course any questions of whois dealer via PM will be answered. BTW, I used PrimoPDF (freeware) to create the pdf files from an excel spreadsheet. If you don't have acrobat, the same PrimoPDF can translate back into excel and then you can sort and search y state/color/price/whatever Enjoy.

#697 is at Brotherton Pontiac/Cadillac in Renton, WA. It's a gray V6, the first G8 I've actually seen in person. I was very impressed.

#785 is a black GT, it's on the Showroom Floor at Burns Pontiac in Marlton, NJ.

They have another 888, also a black GT (#105) on the lot. As a matter of fact, that's the one I drove before I bought a white GT w/sunroof (non 888). I didn't get it yet, it was shipped 3/14. Dealer assumes from the docks in CA. Should have it any day.

One guy in a modified latest model 'Vette wanted to play one night. I'm not that stupid. He would've left me stock. From the evil whistle from under his hood he's got some serious hurt in there.:eek2:

Hello, I have # 224. Gray, premium and sport. Got it for $700 under (31,145) from Brookdale Pontiac GMC. They have or had two more same but red. Also saw a orange in the shop. Dealer was great, no real hassle getting the discount and probably could have worked him for more. Car was gassed and clean for me on pick up. Awesome car! this is my 49th car as I am 60 yrs.

If someone wants to find a 888 near them or in a certain combo, or if someone wishes to start a 888 club then the info is here. If you don't want to look at this list, then don't.

At the time this list was created there did not appear to be any better section of the forum to place it in.

As far as "new" info, how about that less than 3000 2008 G8's remain untagged, and a paltry 129 are GT's with less than desirable option packages. That means your car is either invoiced to a dealer already, or will have to be a 2009 (unless they are going to miraculously dock and unload more 2008's pretty darned soon) Somebody better buy up those V6's before Pontiac gets the idea that the G8 is not a good seller.

Maybe if they convert the engines to the CTS/STS DI specs (worth almost 50 hp) they'll get some more takers.

The search text for GT is not yet changed from base. You have to manually change 2ER69 to 2EC69, but once in can search for all teh GTs you want by zip or city (will returna default 25)

Good point, especially since the DI engine gets better gas mileage and 40 more horsed to boot.

On Tuesday April 8, I purchased a G8 GT, Red #612 of 888

Took Delivery of VIN # 2 3-19-08. it will do 137 no problem. Drives nice when the whole fam is in the car. If you drive normal (but why) then you can get almost 20 MPG in the city. Red, Onyx GT Sport pckg no sunroof.

Also bought a set of Snow tires and winter wheels.

I could not believe I got number 2. First car I've driven where people stop and ask about the car.

I have #798. It's a Black GT with 19 inch wheels, leather and NO moonroof. I'm too tall to lose the 2+ inches with a moonroof, so it was a perfect combination.

Mine is 612 of 888 picked it up on 4-8-08, Paid 34,500 all included. It's Red GT 18 inch rims no moonroof though I would have preferred one. It is a hard color to keep clean. Every other day it seems to need to be washed. I'm glad I got it and need to thank my wife for going to see it before I went there. It made it easier to convince her to buy.

I have #432 in Detroit Mi. Panther Black with Onyx/Red Leather Interior. I'm amazed that I found that combo without ordering it. Although Fit and Finish like you would expect for one of the first 888 but I still love it.

Just got in under the wire for the loyalty bonus, used some GM points, and the "recent grad" program (supplier price but still able to combine with other incentives). I knew going to school for 20 years would finally pay off!<g>.

If you have one of the first 888 the last three digits of the VIN are 8--, and the dash has a special tag on the passenger side in the brushed aluminum strip.:wink2:

If you have a regular GT the VIN is just a VIN, nothing special, and no dash badge.

:( Sorry to let you know that for your car to be a 888 your vin # would have 88001 to 88888 so it looks like someone put a 888 dash trim on your car so you were correct when you thought that your vin needed to start with 88xxx.

It is a great car, she loves it and it does drive and handle like a dream, so that much is true! If it is or isnt a 888 car, so be it, but its interesting to see the dash trim on a non vin'd 888 car..

Like today, had some time to waste so went to local dealer who had a used 2001 Blazer for $12k. Insane! Sales guy saw me looking at it and dropped the price to $8k within 2 minutes. Offered me a test drive and on the drive he bumped it to $7k, after the test drive he wanted to talk "numbers". I didnt even need to say a word and the price came down like 40%! KBB is about $5k on it.

But $29k if it had 0 miles, maybe.

If you want to promote your 888, Third Shift Studios makes some great plaques to show it off. It's nice because the First 888 stuff from the OEM is pretty lame...hell you only see the build# off the VIN. I got their shifter plaque and it looks great with the build number and everything.

Yeah it's a nice touch. They can custom match colors and everything if you wish...I decided to keep it OEM looking and match the silver. If you do order one up, make sure you pop the surround silver trim plate off. This way you can get a seamless look. Just pops right off with a small screwdriver or something.

Hello, I test drove a First 888 model in Carson City, NV at Michael Hohl GM Superstore last sunday.

Unfortunately i didn't get a VIN and they auctioned it off on monday so it's no longer on the site (http://www.michaelhohlgm.com/HomePage).
It was a Grey magnetic metallic V6 with the Premium, Comfort & Sound, and 15,000 miles on it.

I was extremely close to buying this one, but i bought a Pacific Slate metallic V6 on Wednesday for a better price. Perfect first car.

Haha yeah, I can't lie they are a big difference from the usual white plates on the road but I don't mind them at all if its a black car. God help you if you have red, gold, or almost any other color though - those are painful to look at with the new plates.

I'm still interested in the last 888 G8's off the line. Any clue as to the sequence of serial numbers or where I can find them? I know this is not rocket surgery; they have got to be available somewhere.
