: Congrads Chicago Lets welcome the G8
izayn 03-11-2008, 07:31 PM The first one has popped up.
Its outside the city in Highland Park, IL.
I hope mine is coming in tomorrow at my dealership.
I would go get it but I already have 1K locked up in another dealership.
I'm going to guess between today and next Tuesday Chicago should be filled with all dealers whom tagged
izayn 03-11-2008, 08:27 PM Is it a safe assumption that when one dealership in a area gets a car that all of the dealers in the area will get one too in a similar time frame
considering that all the cars for the area should be on the train.

I stopped by Gurnee Pontiac today and they said by next month. I bet the one in Libertyville will have them sooner. When I bought my '04 GTO Gurnee actually had the first only because they drove to Michigan and bought it from auction. Libertyville was the first to directly get a GTO on the north side. I had mine on order for months before they came, and decided to go with the one from Gurnee. I never thought about checking Highland Park.
CMNTMXR57 03-11-2008, 11:22 PM I believe a dealership in the western suburbs is getting two this week.
McGrath in St. Charles, nor Woody here in Elgin have had any pop up yet.

I was hoping to see one up by me this weekend. Maybe I'll shoot down there this weekend and check it out.
CMNTMXR57 03-12-2008, 12:46 PM Same here. I know most dealerships (GM anyway) around here, get the majority of their shipments Tuesday - Thursday during the week.
So if it's a Friday and you don't see one, chances are you won't see one until the next shipment Tues - Thur of the following week.
On a side note though, Woody does have a used QSM '05 GTO. :D
CMNTMXR57 03-12-2008, 12:56 PM Just checked both Woody's and Village's websites (finally able to get into them).
Woody has three automatics, Village has nothing. Sh*tload of 2008 G6's though!
Jack4x 03-12-2008, 09:38 PM Schepel in Merrillville, IN got theirs today.
CMNTMXR57 03-12-2008, 10:39 PM One of Woody's is on the showroom floor. The Liquid Red one. Gotta say, in that light, I'm not crazy about the color.
I don't know where the other two are that they say they have, I scoured the lot.
izayn 03-13-2008, 08:47 PM The car is here
Just have to wait till Sat...bummer
Magnetic Gray, Premium package, unfortunately no sports package but its all good!
drob8 03-15-2008, 12:07 PM Dealer just called...car is ready to go. Gonna try to run there soon!!!!!!!!!
jawilsn 03-15-2008, 09:57 PM Was up in Highland Park today because I saw they listed their black GT on autotrader. Went in and the first thing they said was, "you know we are selling this at $5000 over sticker" I started to get out of my chair to walk out and asked if he was actually serious... He said wait a sec so he came back with a 1K markup, quoting it was advertising cost. Meanwhile on autotrader they listed it just under MSRP at that dealership. Moral of the story print out the internet price before you go to a dealer. Needless to say I did not buy because I refuse as should everyone to pay a penny over MSRP. As for other colors they are all over, Orange in Schaumburg, Red in Gurnee... I'm waiting for a less shady dealer to purchase my Black GT from. Come on Chicagoland lets make a statement!!
CMNTMXR57 03-15-2008, 11:09 PM LOL. $1k for advertising. An ad in Autotrader runs less than $50. LOL!
They tried this sh*t with the GTO too, when will they learn.

Chicago will make a statement alright, but probably not one you'll like :)
BlueGoat 03-16-2008, 07:19 AM Keep the faith, and go to another dealer....and let them know you're going to another dealer. When a local dealer wanted to sell me my GTO for $3,000 over sticker, I bought it for MSRP and then dropped by to let them know I wasn't interested in their car and they could sell it to someone else. I also took the invoice with me to show them what I paid. And I won't darken their door again, either. Pontiac knows what the car is worth, not the dealer.
