I really think some GTO style SAP grill inserts would look much better.. where they sort of roll back into a recessed grill mesh.. painted to body color.. i think the G8 would look much more aggressive..

I think grills in black stainless mesh would look very tasteful! Maybe carry that theme to the rest of the other grilles couldn't hurt either. It's something I've already considered doing if and when the GXP version hits the showroom.

I'm waiting (dreading actually), when some Pontiac-Buick dealer puts a vinyl top on. I've seen a couple new CTS' done that way.

Yeah, that chrome on the grill looked OK in the pics, but when I saw it in person it looks cheap.

My G8 is currently in my dealers body shop getting some custom painting done. Hopefully I'll get pics tomorrow. For now, I have a 2005 Grand Prix to drive.

That was semi gloss.
It was their mistake, so it's getting redone.

I agree...I want my G8 to be the tuxedo t-shirt of the highways...looks formal and classy, but its here to PARTY!

Did they take your badges off to paint them? The G8 looks crooked. Maybe it's just the camera angle.

If I were going to have that painted I think I'd have it color matched instead.

The painted grill seems to tie it in better to the lower section of the grill. It is in a similar black. Not bad...

I think it looks good! If the chrome trim around the windows was done also that would tie it in!

I was considering the window trim, and I was given a price. I decided to wait to see how I liked what they did. I was pretty pissed when I got there and noticed the badges were put on by someone who most likely had a liquid lunch. Then when I walked around the front, my heart stopped when I saw less than high gloss black.
When I get out this morning to detail, I'll post some other pics.

That looks fantastic! Don't sweat the small stuff, your body shop will get it right.

Thanks man. Had a good talk with the body shop manager this morning. We are on the same page. I have the black leather seating. Still considering the window trim.

Exterior wise the only things I would change are:

Spoiler ( I like the foreign versions better )
Wheels ( again I like the ones on the foreign/gxp better )
Stripes added to the hood/trunk might look sweet

Otherwise I wouldnt change a thing. I like the hood, grilles, the chrome accents, door handles, everything. A bigger spoiler might look good though like on the vauxhall.

Yes, I did. I went racing yesterday, and been to lazy today to take pics. I'll post 'em up soon.
