So I'm driving south on I-5 Saturday night, heading to Seattle during a light rain and all of the sudden the windshield wipers just stop working. I'm like wtf, luckily I keep Rain-X on both of my vehicles. I would have been ass out had it been a downpour though. I make it to my destination and back home safe and sound. Of course Monday morning I beat the service people to the dealership, leave my car for them to find out why my wipers just stopped working. Come to find out the motor crapped out, how crazy is that? I had a 1979 280zx up until 1998 and NEVER had to replace the windshield wiper motor. Had to leave car at dealer Monday and picked up today with new motor in place and wipers working :-) I just find it really strange that a motor would go out like that. Oh well no harm no foul, right?

Hey Carlos! Good to hear you made it thru that OK, what with our weather what it has been, that could have been real trouble! You having any problems with your wipers chattering/skipping? Oh, and your avatar needs an update!

Was back up to the dealer today to have them "adjust" the wiper arm angle in an effort to stop the chatter/skipping. Just two weeks ago they replaced the blades for me (for free). They said that GM is having their area reps drive G8s to get the word out, let 'em be seen and help trouble shoot some of the weird stuff that has been happening with them. Service manager at my dealership said they are learning off my car as they haven't sold that many, only about 5 so far.:driving: Oh forgot, the service manager said if the "adjustment" doesn't do the trick, I should consider Aquapel or Rain-X on the windshield. I told him I'd rather go with a better quality after market blade first!

If you have to John, have them replace your drivers side wiper arm. That's the only thing that fixed my problem. Even so, they wouldn't do the passenger side, just the drivers.

Hey Ranay! So far, with the rain we've had over the last few days, the "adjustments" the service manager made seem to be working. He basically bent the arm at the first bend, closest to the bottom, which in essence, made the wiper fit tighter to the windshield. He also paid a lot of attention to getting the blade to roll over in each direction it was traveling. As I said, seemed to have worked thus far!:wink2:

Are you saying there is a recall, or you think there should be a recall? Cause I've gotten no notice! Oh, and hey, you still gonna send me some money? Haven't seen any yet?! Should I have?:wink2:

I'm giving it a good test tomorrow. Driving into SouthCenter to get some Mariners tickets. Its supposed to be pissy, so the wipers should get a good workout! I'll let you know!:wink2:
