I purchased my car in Uxbridge and have had it serviced both there and locally here in Whitby. The car has been in for a few common problems (squeaky strut mounts, froozen hood, fogging headlights, clunk in the front end) and on both occurances nothing ended up being fixed. The techs stated they could not duplicate any of the problems. Gus Brown was courteous and seemed like they made an effort, Uxbridge just made a royal mess of my car and messed up everything I asked them to do.
I have a feeling the reason I'm having trouble with warranty repairs is these cars aren't common enough around here for the techs to know them very well. Can anyone suggest a dealer whom they were impressed with the service department and they seemed to know what was up with these cars?

I believe the frozen hood has a TSB, squeeky struts I dont know about, fogging headlights my car had when I first got it and they said if it kept up I could bring it in and they would deal with it, the clunk I have too and I just keep telling them about it hoping they will eventually know what it is. I would go to the TSB section and see if you can find any numbers you can give the dealership to look up.
You are right the techs hardly know anything about these cars in Canada, in fact I know more about my G8 then anyone working at the dealership, not sure if that is a good thing...
Keep documenting your issues and try to figure out good ways to reproduce the issues you are seeing and then try to repro at the dealer.

If you're in Whitby, you could try Unionville Motors in Markham.
One of the service techs has one, definetly played around in it, and I know that a couple of other cars other than mines have been serviced there. They did a decent job with mine and they're open to suggestion but kinda sticklers for the TSB's.
I had a wierd grinding sound from the joints up front in the winter. Took it in, no questions asked, head tech man got in, and away we went. Sound went away, but they checked it out anyways. I think it was the cold
Anyways, they're worth a try and only half an hour from you.

Hi: Try Woodbine Pontiac,Buick in the west end of Toronto. My friend's(that bought their Grand Prix's there on my suggestion in the past!!!) have had very good experiences with that dealership, in fact we know the owner and find him to be a very helpful person(If my buddy buys the G-8 that is the 1st dealership to get a chance to make the deal!!!).Their number is(416)748-2900 I believe.Good Luck!!!
