Yeah, I always RTFM (that's Read The Factory Manual) when I get a new car. But you always miss something. I remember the first time I pulled into a gas station to feed the new GTO and couldn't find the #$% gas filler cap cover release. It is positioned just to the left of the steering wheel behind a steering wheel spoke, completely out of my vision. Looked all over the door panel, center console and (I thought) the dash. I had to drive back home and get the manual where I'd left it on the coffee table.

Hey BLUEGOAT, you got the "F" wrong on RTFM. It is more PC, but you might be careful who you use it around. :)

FYI - my first post was to ask someone how to get the damn thing open. I like the design now that I understand it.
I certainly felt like a loser at the gas station searching for the button or lever to open it. Especially since I left after being there for 5 minutes and not purchasing any gas. (I left my manual @ home)

Man it took me five minutes and pulling out the manual to figure it out. I know everybody who saw it thought I was an idiot, but I love the design I'm just worried about scratching the door everytime I press it in.

LOL...I was trying to figure this out last night. I knew there was no lip to open it with your fingers so I figured there was a lever or a button somewhere. I spent five to ten minutes looking for it. I felt like an idiot when I finally read it in the owners manual. I was just trying to figure it out because I was curious and I knew I was going to have to know eventually. At least I wasn't trying to fill up with gas at the time!!!

RTFM - What good advice. A few years ago, I was involved in an auto raffle where we were selling chances on a Pontiac Vibe. Dealer left it with little gas, and I had to get some. Had to call the Dealership manager at home on Sunday to ask how to release the gas lid. He was very nice.
