: Woodward
college money? 03-21-2009, 02:47 AM Alright, I've been a member of this site and never posted so here it goes, my names Dan, I drive a 08 MGM G8 GT with a few goodies. I'm from metro Detroit but now live 4hrs away in Michigan's upper peninsula, so I come home when I can.
Now anyone who has heard of Woodward blvd, probably knows that when the whether allows, cars come out. A couple of weeks ago I was in the area visiting VMS for my kooks LT and a re-tune. After that it was time to go out to Woodward and play.
The first kill was a 04-06 WRX STI which was not stock, we took off at the light and was even at the launch and when I shifted to 2nd I jumped half car and pulled away. I was quite happy with the results, i gave him a thumbs up and was on my way to find my next victim.
Next car I came up to was a neon srt-4 which I didn't expect him to run. So when we got the green, he took off and I wasn't gonna let a neon show me up, so I put foot down and passed him before he shifted into 2nd, I take it he was mostly stock but it was a nice kill.
Now that the little cars are done, its time to move on to the bigger ones. The next one I came across was a 96-98 Cobra. I pulled up next to him and there was something I noticed right away. The wine of supercharger coming from under the hood. We drove out away from the main strip to run em. We got to a light and when green came we both went, we were dead even until about 45, I jumped a half car and was pulling away, we shut down around 70. Next light he hooked up and jumped me about a car, but I was pulling on him until i was at his front tire then we shut down at about 85 and , we waved each other off and when he pulled away, I noticed the reason he jumped that second run.... slicks haha
But the night wasn't done. That stang attracted some attention. A magnum rt (or at least I thought it was an rt) pulled up next to me, we slowed down to 15 and I figured this was gonna be easy. On the third honk we went, we were even until about 2nd the he just kept going giving me enough time to see his license plate "QIK WGN" I guess you cant win them all but I later found out it was an srt8 with rt body kit, rims and badges, and not at all stock
It was a great night in all, I hit up the bars after that loss. So i ended the night on a good note.
BigRob 03-21-2009, 03:12 AM welcome and cool kills!
JEC_G8GT 03-21-2009, 06:39 AM All in one night?....pretty cool
fiveoh 03-21-2009, 07:15 PM Nice kills... no offense I highly doubt you pulled a 96-96 cobra with a supercharger and slicks though. What other mods do you have? Might have been a supercharged gt with cobra kit.
techboy 03-21-2009, 09:34 PM nice kills...i played with a older cobra for about 6 miles...it was the year that had the tiny vents and not the big ones...she didnt hold up to good but did ok. but that aside great night!! on a side note...theres a ppossy of 3 SRT-4's that rome around the town..they found out i got this car and everyone stoped talking about them and started saying i had the best car in town **really small town, nothing but camaro's trans am's and srt's*** so they were out to get me...they kinda are annoying..always reving up at me...but i raced one of them once and killed him to about 80. then he caught up and pulled off me...was kinda embarressing. that turbo is a b^&%^ at top end >=(

You arnt racing the right cars bro. There are several EVO's and STI putting down 500+ Trust me i know.
And for the guys that dont believe him in all one night, yes. Almost every weekend at the "spot" there are 20+ cars out.
college money? 03-22-2009, 10:16 AM Thanks to all, yeah that's a pretty normal Friday or Saturday night in metro Detroit. The mustang I was playing with had a fairly fresh engine in it and maybe he wasn't dial in. Either way I won one and lost one. As far as mods go I have kooks LT, Roto-fab and a VMS tune, so nothing crazy but she gets the tires loose into 2nd. Srt-4's are not something to under estimate to you all running stock, especially if they have few mods done. Ever since I got the tune done I would walk those neons.
TheTugBoat 03-24-2009, 01:13 AM Welcome, read the rules? Follow them.
Nice kills
Just because you hear a supercharger doesn't mean he's running crazy boost. With slicks on the cobra its not crazy to think its a track car that runs low boost on the street.

Sweet im repping the 586. Maybe ill catch you on woodward sometime! Got a MGM G8
I used to rep 313 in the day... A squared not D-town though.
Nice kills... honorable death.
Also despite what 5-O says mid nineties cobras are doable even with mods... I mean the OP is being coy about what he is packing... no signature.

I never really go down there, but I will sometime. Maverick Silver GT here. No badging on the back, just the Pontiac arrowhead.

A^2 used to be 313 in sunnier days. I think the changeover was about 1995 or something like that.
Gwizzy 04-13-2009, 02:22 PM Sounds like Woodward.... another is Gratiot... although it has been less and less in the last few years...
