Derekprz 03-22-2009, 10:36 PM With your white car those colors on your covers look awesome. Good job!
ambenz 03-26-2009, 07:36 AM What kind of paint did you use? How is holding up to the heat of the engine?
I would like to paint my covers. I have received several quotes, way too expensive. They all claim it is because of the heat of the engine.
Commguy06 03-26-2009, 11:50 AM I used White Krylon Fusion. I just took the covers off and washed with soap and hot water. Then just sprayed a few coats of white and then used the red. Its holding up good. Just gotta keep it clean.
techboy 03-26-2009, 02:21 PM Commguy06, awesome job. its amazing what you can do with a few beers in ya isnt it? lol jk.
it really did turn out good...i like the V6 covers better than the V8 ones personally...idk i think they just look more beeefy
harddrivet 03-26-2009, 03:00 PM I like it, think I will do that myself, just not sure what color would look best with my Panther Black.
Gpdan 03-26-2009, 09:12 PM That looks great!! Is there any way to paint the center part?
Commguy06 03-26-2009, 09:52 PM Im sure you could paint the Manifold. If you wanted to you could even have it powdercoated. Auto parts stores sell high temp paint that might work for it.
gman1227 03-26-2009, 10:24 PM dang that look nice:)
Elvisuperman 04-13-2009, 12:48 PM That looks awesome, great work!
As for the heat dilemma some have stated...I used manifold paint that I bought at "CDN Tire", it obviously is designed/capable of withstanding high temperatures.
I guess in the States "Napa" would probably sell it.
Really though, as long as its on the plastic cover, I don't think the paint will be subjected to that much heat.
SantasG8 04-15-2009, 05:25 PM Why does my friggin engine cover look different than everyone else's?? It is just one big black plastic piece that covers the entire engine....anyone?

Do you have a V8?
EDIT never mind I see from your other post that you do have a V6.
mario1956 05-31-2009, 09:14 PM Now that my computer has returned to normal---I have been thinking about red and silver with black highlights on the intake manifold. Just an idea.
AbsurdBuffalo 06-07-2009, 07:00 PM For the Panther Black Met....
I was just thinkin of getting some black metallic spraypaint and doing the body of the covers that color...then doing those 6 raised bumps red...then applying a high heat resistant clear coat to give it that glossy look....
harddrivet 06-07-2009, 07:40 PM Yeah that would be good, I already painted mine black with the fusion, I was trying to decide what color to paint the bumps, and I asked a few people and they thought they red would be to bold and stand out to much, but I still think I might like it.

Are those the OEM V-6 rims painted up. If so, they look awesome.
Pandersonjr04@aol.com 06-09-2009, 10:11 AM looks great but the white may fade darker so you may have to retouch it in a year or two. dont drink and mod though!
