Has anyone thought of something to cleanup the area where the LED sits? I checked the AU boards, but couldn't find anything other than someone who made a cutout cover. Several companies sell a guage pack that sits above it in the speaker opening, but the LED is still visible. Any ideas? Thanks.

I use a clean microfiber towel with a dab of water to clean my displays like touchscreens, etc. I don't see why it shouldn't work for that either.

No my bad..... I wasn't trying to be a smarta$$. I got slightly confused. I thought that he meant that he was looking for a method to cleaning the display. I see what he meant now after you pointed out that I was wrong.

If you use GM's turn by turn "navigation" system, are the oil/battery displays replaced by text informing you of your next turn? Does it give you voice alerts as well?

I am pretty sure the Turn-by-Turn shows up in the DIC between the tach and speedo. Not sure on the voice.

yes it gives you verbal warnings, and the display shows up in the DIC. I agree that those battery and oil temp lcd display thingies have to go. maybe put in a frwd looking camera or ... who knows?

I'm really thinking to replace those with a Nav screen ala Mercedes.

That's encouraging. WTH were the designers thinking in the first place? They should have put 6 analog guages in the dash like the Corvette or a 10 year old fbody :banghead: Time for my medication (hey mods where's the :chug: smiley?)

I wonder who will be the first to place an insert there with a couple of 2" analog gauges. Of course it all depends on the dimensions of the area
