Nino, this news really concerns me. I just wrapped up a divorce and have a house to sell before I can get my GXP. I was originally planning to wait until next spring (I just couldn't leave such a fun car hiding in a garage thru a Wisconsin winter and not want to drive it!) to buy it as a 2010 model. I wouldn't ask you to reveal a source, but does this sound more like "idle speculation" or is it "hey, get 'em while you can or miss out"? Are you guys still able to get as many as you can sell, or is the supply getting hard to come by? I can't check inventory of GXPs on gminventory.com, so I have no idea how many GXPs are even out there. I know there are only 3 G8 GTs left equipped the way I would have wanted one if the GXP hadn't come along. I wonder if this is just a lull before the next boatloads, or if that's all the '09s we will ever see? I really need some good news these days, so this GXP rumor is putting a major damper on things for me.

The GXP's are not going to show on GM Inventory. The district managers are going on a first come first serve basis to dealers selling alot of G8's any time they hit the ground.

The other G8's are plentiful and I can get as many as I want.

The words come more as speculation but I take it with a grain of salt because this model is strong in AU and extremely strong in China as a Buick Model, so I cant see killing something that does so well, I would believe that they shift production to hear in the US and perhaps thats where assumptions are coming in. It would be alot more feasible to buld them here along side the Camaro rather than shipping.

I don't have any old ones here, but I have gotten a few for customers with it. Most of the dealers that have it still aren't competative enough to beat me. ;)

Big thanks to Nino - he's been putting up with my indecision and pestering for a while now. He let me drive his own GXP today, which pushed me over the edge. By the way, it looked like they sold two GT's while I was there this afternoon - guess GM does make a car people want to buy, no matter what the politicians think.

Now I just have to keep the wife from finding out I bought a "commuter car" thats only rated 20 mpg highway:D

No, I spoke with the rep and was told the lind is set to start on 2010's, so thats a little better.

As for mileage, are you running 93? 89? 87?

I think the car needs a tune frankly. Seems to run rich IMHO. Not that I have any evidence of it (I will soon however) but thats my thoughts.

Years ago we shipped a trailer of liquid hazardous waste to a processor. Despite explicit directions not to stop anywhere, no side trips, the driver missed the scheduled delivery a couple of hours later and was awol. Middle of the night we got a call from the local cops - the trailer was rolled over in a front yard a few miles from our plant. The driver had pulled into the neighborhood to hook up with a "girlfriend", then rolled the trailer trying to back out in the middle of the night.

From the looks of the GM.com, it appears that they have extended the 0% financing for 60, or $3,000 cash back. Not sure about other incentives such as the $2000 dealer cash or the age inventory, Nino can chime in on that one. It also looks like they have started their "Total Confidence Promotion" as well.

For some strange reason I have a feeling that better incentives will not be to far off again.:) Especially if GM is going to into Chapter 11, they will need to move vehicles somehow even with Obams's promise to cover warranty's if the company should completely fold. I do see Chapter 11 in the future, but not 7, however that still will shake consumers confidence in buying a car form a manufacturer going through all that restructuring.

Well, Nino was right. The truck arrived today, and my silver GXP is sitting in the driveway! Think I might just have to play hookie Thursday afternoon and put some mile on her.

This is all HWY driving for 40miles, plus a few stoplights when entering the city - and keeping it below 3K RPM....lol...that is a task on its own.

Yeah, its hard to get that break in done LOL

I'm not getting anywhere near 23 mpg, but then the ~100 miles I've put on have been ~70% stop and go - not true city.

My average is around 17.5 mpg, mostly less than 3k rpm, but with a few good "load variations" thrown in. Wouldn't want to stay at any one rpm too long during break in now, would I...:wink2: This car is going to be a ball to drive once the break in is done.
