Close race and good kill but....

I think your wheels are killing your times. To each his own though.

What did the Charger have again?

He got you on the holeshot but you got him back on the big end. Work on your reaction time so you leave when he does,(just looks better), and work on your 60ft time and you will net better times as well as separate from him even more. Overall good job though.

It is funny to watch though. Charger gets a pretty substantial lead, only to lose in the end.

this was my 1st time running at the track, I had to get use to the tree. I was wondering what the g8 would do with rims. I know by all means those 20's are killing my times. I got him back ending up with a .004 reaction time running a 13.604 1/4mile. he has headers tune cai, cat backs. the guys at the track stated they have some respect for the g8's now.

Good kill...definitley should get some runs with the stock rims and tires and see how your times improve if you can...was impressed with your pull on the big end.

good kill. Period

yes--my heavy 20 inch wheels on my modified 300C cost me a couple tenths for sure. 13.1 with them, 12.8 on stockers. (heads/cam/headers/tune/catback).

your car is going torun 13.4 or better on stockers--good pass for first try btw.

1st run 13.64 with 75% torgue on superchips
2nd run 13.60 with no TM,
3rd run 13.69 on superchips quick tune.

Nice kill. He needs lessons, an R/T with those mods will run 13.5 @ 105mph if not better with a 2.06ft. Rich has less mods, canned tune and stock exhaust and runs 13.4s with a 1.9x 60ft, stock exhaust and has trapped as high as 104mph. And Sears Point isn't a "fast track".

I really wonder about the headers and and tune for that car. 101mph just seems way off for his mods.

Chargers don't pick up that much power from headers I guess, G8's run well into the 12's with I/H/E/T

Nice kill!

Well they are slower then us stock and according to Mopar experts here....that R/T could not drive.

You don't know much about 3rd gen HEMI's then, and I am going to leave it at that.

We and the G8's have auto's, but there are a lot of people that need the driver mod.

I've seen many write-ups on the Charger with the 340hp Hemi. This year they got a bump to 368hp. I haven't seen any write-ups but I'd be interested to see a side-by-side with a current year hemi. The Challenger SRT8 and G8 GXP were virtually neck to neck in a recent comparison for straight line. I haven't seen an RT and GT comparison.

not to take away from the OP--great win and kill, but I was womdering same. Have seen 5.7 with headers and tune in low 13s on streets???

They are in St. louis, they don't have the greatest air there.

I couldn't help but notice you CTS-V, do you want to adopt me? :)

Nice run. That Charger seems like he got a crappy tune :P Like one of those ebay tune boxes with a little resistor in them, lol.

LOL--I think your right.

Throw a magnacharger-headers and a tune on your G8 and you will be able to beat that CTS-V in a straight line at least! There are guys who put headers, airbox and tune on the V and picked up 100 rwhp!!

I am not going to mess with this car internally too much--its too balanced. Intake and tune, should be fine and 525 rwhp. Its more fun in the twisties than in a straight line though...

the air here sucks, a stock g8 here ran a 14 somrthing back in sept 08. the charger couldn't get under 13:80 do to the night temps.

lessons? the charger was ahead out the hole. lessons on what? these are automatic transmission cars....there's no lessons to be learned when you're in the lead with an auto and lose to another auto. sorry.

Well we can make ourselves faster with the 3rd gear hold after 80mph. But that's only on relatively stock cars.

Considering a 101mph trap speed for an I/E/T R/T is pretty sad he either needs lessons on: telling the truth, getting a decent tune, not shifting himself, turning the ESP fully off or a combination of all 4.
