Hello everyone I just registered tonight. I got a call this morning from my Dealer here in the Flint Michigan area. I deal with Delehanty pontiac in Flushing, Michigan. Anyway Randy called me at 8:00 a.m. this morning and told me that they were uloading a dark grey G8 GT at that very moment. He said "hey you want to come and drive it first"? He was still talking to me when i pulled up at the dealer 15 minutes later.

I had to wait an hour for them to prep the car for me to drive. Lets just say I was Very Impressed. I had just traded in my Trailblazer SS for my wife to get a Hummer H3 Alpha a couple of months ago. So I have been having speed withdrawel real bad lately.

They drove it out of the garage area and it looked awesome in the dark grey. It had the premium package and it was #687 of 888. I liked the interior layout fine. I do agree with everyone that the center stack lights above the radio are kind of stupid. I hope they fix that later. Everything else was fine to me. The back seat is a cave. My god is that one big area.

Randy the sales guy told me to please not do any burnouts or donughts with it. He did ask nicely although i did not really listen to him. I got the car sideways about 2 blocks from the dealer going around the corner. I will say this the car is very fun and very controlable when it gets out of shape. It rides like a caddy and it is WAY too Quiet. The radio sucks but that will go in the trash the fist day anyway.

So needless to say I love the car and I will own one. However I want a black or a red one with the red leather interior and the performance package. They are going to get me one.

He figured up a 39 month lease with $0 down and 10,000 miles a year for me. I am GMS so I do get the employee discount. It came out to $450 a month. I did not think that was terrible. I paid $435 a month for my 05 Grand Prix GXP I had.

Man, I can't wait to test drive one of these, I am hopping by next year there will be some incentives to get my lease under 400 a month. I am assuming they are not marking the car up at all?

I am glad you liked the car. There is a lot to like.

Shame on you for beating on a car that is not yours. If you eventually buy it, not big deal. If you don't :damnyou:

I am sending a link to this thread to Delehanty Pontiac in Flushing, Michigan. :secret:

They are not marking up the car at all. They are really cool guys there. If you go by talk with Randy.

Hope you have fun changing out the radio, since the factory radio also controls the HVAC system.

I am sure that PAC will have some adaptors for it soon. I e-mailed them and they are working on it.

Kinda what I was thinking... What exactly did you find wrong with it?? I enjoy the stock 11 speaker Blaupunkt system in the car.

Plus, how do you know the head unit is the weak link? It could be the speakers?

Well audio is very subjective and I should have kept that comment to myself. I am used to very high end audio. I have sold it for over 10 years. The tweeters are very cheap and lack any kind of highs and the door speakers lack any kind of image. Most people do not care much I know. Everyone hears differently and all I am saying is that the system has no low end no mid range and no high end either. So for me I will be changing out the system as soon as the modules are available.

I heard the system for the first time today and to me it sounded like the average factory system in today's terms. I don't consider myself that picky, but I'll probably try to enhance the speakers somehow too.

That is not true they can give you a discount if they want to. It is up to the dealer though, they do not have to give GMS or any other discount. ALL the dealers here in Michigan are giving GMS discount so just come here and buy one.

I just heard it today too and was disappointed with it. It's definitely just an average GM radio - nothing special despite the "stats". I would also entertain the idea of swapping out at least the speakers to see if you could get more separation of the highs/lows. To me, it just sounded like a wall of sound and it actually distorted badly at medium-high volume. Radio sounded borderline cruddy; cds were just "OK".

Gotta say, my stock Mustang Mach 1000 stereo (6 speakers) sounds about the same overall - maybe even a tad better since it's isn't nearly so prone to distort at higher volumes like the G8 GT's radio. That's not saying much. . .trust me!
