Would LOVE to see how they look with some nice dark tint. Any color, but I bet the black one would look sharp as hell.

Thanks.

Who are you going to use? Pablo Blue has been recommended to me by several and that is who I will likely use. If you are going to use him, I might have a wait ahead of me.....

Is that legal in Texas? Not that I care, just asking.

I am not exactly sure on the law. It may allow for the rear passenger and back windows to be limo (the rear can be limo tint as long as both side mirrors are present), just not the front side windows. But, it is not something that sees "heavy enforcement".

I will get mine max legal all around.

If I were a highway patrollman, there is no way I would approach a blacked out car without my gun drawn. Talk about a trouble magnet. You all might want to think about the message you are sending out to everyone else on the road. Scary.

Well I'm glad your not a highway patrolman. Good way to get yourself in a bind... Even legal tint at night time next to a lonely stretch of highway is hard to see in. Even with a good lightbar with bright take down lights and a spot light. It sucks, but you learn the safe tactical way to approach vehicles at night time safely and take care of business.

Anywho. Everyone who has window tint knows, rule #1 when pulled over is to roll your windows down and if at night time, turn the dome light on. At night time I'll just roll down my driver's side window after I turn my dome light on. I don't care how dark your tint is. At night time your dome light will fully illuminate the interior of the vehicle.

And the legal tint level in Texas is 20 or 25%. They lowered it from 35%.

At least those who have their windows tinted dark, like me, could be polite and roll all of the windows down if they are ever pulled over.

I need to go back and look. The front driver and passenger side window cannot be darker than either 20% or 25%. It used to be 35%, but the law changed about 4 or 5 years back. Kinda sucks, because if you had a vehicle that was manufactured on or before 1987 you could legally limo it out. But they did away with that....

Excluding your windshield and front windows you can have as dark as tint on your windows as your hearts desire, legally. As far as your windshield, the tint cannot dip below the ASI line.

So to answer your question. No my window tint won't be legal....

Tip I got from a trooper once:

Regardless of your tint etc. An officer (especially at night) will appreciate it if you turn your dome light on and put your hands on the wheel. I always do this and coupled with being polite to the officer, I usually get let off, or at least treated fairley.

I'll be getting tint on Monday. 20% in the back and 35% in the front. The front is being done 1st, so if that seems dark enough with the black interior, I might make a decision to go 35 all around. Being that red has been called the cop magnet, I don't need "that" kinda attention.

Good point. I must have spent too much time in the Washington DC area where the sight of blacked out windows just terrified me. You stay safe out there.

Nevermind my baby is dirty, she still looks good to me! :D

My tint guy suggested I went with 20% on the back windows and 35% up front, and said that 20% would be too dark on the front.. I told him I'm payin him and to put 5% all around...... He wasn't kidding it's dark!! :eek2:

Here's a After and before picture...(Yea, yea I know... suppose to be before and after:yumyum:)

Nope. My tint guy said he didn't feel comfortable trying to take the assembly apart to tint it. So I didn't want to force him to try and have him wind up breaking something...

And everyone has their own tastes, but I like the way it looks without the 3rd break light tinted.

With windows tinted it becomes obvious how much better the car would look without the chrome trim around the windows.
