HardTech 04-14-2009, 09:52 PM Nino how quick could you get a 2009.5 MGM sport/prem?
Nino@gaypontiac 04-15-2009, 11:11 AM There is not a single one showing up in the locater within 5000 miles.
Chances are, they simply did not build any.

OMG! Who can I yell at, please tell me I can yell at someone at GM. You have to be kidding me!

I hope that's not true. Seems like a good combination to me, and it's what I'm hoping will pop up for me soon.
Nino@gaypontiac 04-20-2009, 04:16 PM Well, like I said. They may not have built any MGM with bluetooth. I rechecked the locater today and still none.
Thats a 5000 mile radius which tells me none incoming in the US...
BTW, GXP production for 09 stopped already and I believe GT stopped as well.
1992B4C 04-20-2009, 10:02 PM Are the 2010's going into production soon?

I read in a car magazine that GM reduced G8 production by 97% for the remainder of the production year. This was about a month or so ago. It was either response to the current conditions, or preparing for '10 models. Question is: with current news of Pontiac's demise or going niche, will there be a '10 model?
HardTech 04-21-2009, 06:14 AM I hope that's not true. Seems like a good combination to me, and it's what I'm hoping will pop up for me soon.
Just do what I did and go for the white... I gave up on MGM when Nino couldnt get it, or even find it.
The white is really nice looking with a good tint job.
Sorry Nino I was about ready to call ya last Friday when the dealership just had a 2009.5 fall into a local dealership they trade with often. They agreed closer to your price than I thought. You’re still the least expensive.
They knew it would take gas + hotel + time for me to get down there and leveraged that. They did throw in tinting of the car (which I’m sure you know the real price of) free.
Although my sales guy doesn’t like ya, he keeps getting calls on "low ball offers" that keep referring "Nino's Offer". Although I must give them credit, they are meeting that price about 97% of the way.
Still props to you Nino for getting sales people to truly start selling these cars way below MSRP. Any chance Nino you want to get into the BMW sales next? Everything in the Dallas and Houston area is minimum MSRP...

2nd this one... i'm still looking at a 135i, but 35k base msrp with almost guaranteed 40k otd is outrageous..
flensr 04-24-2009, 11:15 PM I'm way up in Wichita Falls, and the dealers here won't go below invoice minus incentives. Any way to get me a GT up here for that price?
I want the bright red (liquid red?) with premium. Sunroof would be nice but not required. The dealer here (Burkburnett, TX) found me one nearby with the sunroof and he wants around $29,800ish.
Dynasty 04-25-2009, 12:54 AM Nino, you ever get my personal message?
Thanks.

Are you willing to travel to Austin area?
flensr 04-25-2009, 10:09 AM Are you willing to travel to Austin area?
I don't think I'll have the time to travel that far. I might be able to get to DFW area but that's about it. Work plus baby plus sick wife = I don't go very far.

magnetite 04-25-2009, 01:24 PM hey, I'd like to get a g8 GT but what do you guys make of the decision for pontiac to be sold, or go under? it sounds like it'll be announced monday.
will the warranty be honored by chevy/GM ?
how much will parts and service be if not?
any input or thoughts welcomed.
gasket 04-25-2009, 01:49 PM If the Pontiac division goes away your GM warranty will still be honored.....worse case senario the warranty will be backed by the goverment. Parts will be plentyful for a minimum of 5 years and probably much longer than that(US goverment requirement to sell cars here)Example on that was Daihatsu....when they exited the US they had to continue supplying parts for a minimum of 5 years.
I wouldn't have fear of buying a Pontiac product. Except for the G8,everything is shared components. The Holden Motor Company isn't going anywhere either. We could see the new 2010 Buick G8???? 2010 Buick G6???? 2010 Buick Vibe???? 2010 Buick Solstice???? Forget about the G3,G5....the Torrent is already done and over(replaced with GMC Terrain...it looks great!)
I guess we'll find out Monday on who's reliable for what happens. GM had a press release out yesterday morning denying the demise of Pontiac yet most news sources have said the opposite.
I don't think the rebates/incentives are going to be any better next month. GM doesn't have the money to give more.
Posidon42 04-27-2009, 01:21 PM So what cars do you still have available? I am looking for a sport red metallic. You have a PM from Friday with my information.
LS2GTO 04-27-2009, 06:16 PM Nino can you verify if onyx/red interior is available on MGM GXP's?
Posidon42 04-28-2009, 08:50 AM Nino, you still around? Been trying to contact you all week and the phone number on your website doesn't seem to be working anymore.
Nino@gaypontiac 04-28-2009, 10:55 AM Yeah man, Im here
try the dealership direct 281-337-2521
LS2GTO : OIt is, I simply dont have any coming right now.
Posidon42 : I do have one coming, along with 24 other GT's ;)
G8fan 04-28-2009, 11:10 AM Any word on the May incentives? I would guess that they would just continue with the $3K or finance offer.
phoenixitc 04-28-2009, 12:25 PM Any word on the May incentives? I would guess that they would just continue with the $3K or finance offer.
With what has happened... everything is off the table. There's no telling what to expect, May, June or any other month for that matter.
G8fan 04-28-2009, 01:10 PM Are you on crack?
Perhaps! You really think that they are going to start some sort of blowout pricing with such low inventory levels (on the G8's) this early?
Posidon42 04-28-2009, 02:17 PM We can hope. :D

Nino@gaypontiac 04-28-2009, 05:17 PM 24 GT's and 6 V6's
We are also buying out GXP's from some other dealers. :p
Bought 2 today so we have a total of 6 coming.
AU_Mech 04-28-2009, 05:52 PM Nino,
So what is your feel on the incentives for May. My financing is being setup as we speak. I am just trying to get a feel on buying before April ends or when May starts.
VQ35DE 04-28-2009, 06:58 PM Nino,
Are there any more boatloads coming over here?

VQ35DE : No more 09's. Still in the air as far as whether or not they will make any 2010's

mchspd 04-28-2009, 07:39 PM this is becoming a better story to tell the kids in a few years..."yea kids, dad got the GXP from the guy who sold the most GXPs in the US! Good for you Nino.
I need some info if you can get it...Out of 09 production how many were Maverick Silver/onyx with red inserts, Auto, Sunroof. I want to know how much MORE rare my ride is.
Please set up a meet at the end of the year for a Gay Pontiac GXP buyers meet!
nino...thought i'd join and try to catch u here....did my last email get to you?
we are the ones looking at a G8 and a buick enclave to trade our mercedes and Tundra for.....
chad lee @ charter . net
TGibson 04-28-2009, 08:51 PM Nino,
My wife and I are looking to buy here shortly and I was wondering what GXP's you will be getting. I was told that the MGM with red inserts never made it into production for the GXP so we are looking for a MGM/ onyx or possibly a White Hot with red inserts. Has to be an auto would like to have the sun roof but it is not a deal breaker.
Thanks
Tom
I'm still interested as well, sent a pm I know you're a busy man. ;) I remember seeing the truckloads with g8s heading towards your dealer. I never knew I'd be head over heels for an American car.
phoenixitc 04-29-2009, 05:56 AM And so the increase desire to buy a G8 begins... now that the G8 is going byebye, more people want one.... and Nino is there waiting, whoop :)
Nice call nino!
Posidon42 04-29-2009, 06:33 AM Just a matter of timing for me. I have been trying to buy one since Feb, but the wife wouldn't let me until we closed on our house. That was last week, now I want my car!
Nino@gaypontiac 04-29-2009, 09:44 AM mchspd : Im trying to find out all the production numbers, but no success yet. Once I know I will let everyone know.
clh : I did, Im waiting on the used car guy to give me an idea on numbers
TGibson : I know I have the MGM incoming, white Im not sure about however. The MGM should be here any daY.
alf : The used car just doesn't want to give me a number on your car. Best bet might be to come by when you have time. I also suggest taking it by carmax, they have put some hefty numbers on similar cars lately.
phoenixitc : Don't be surprised if we see a Buick version very soon...Maybe the letters GNX will replace GXP. ;)
Posidon42 : So what are you waiting for :p
I suggest anyone thats on the edge wait till May 1st so I can see what the incentives are because right this moment I dont have much to offer.
Posidon42 04-29-2009, 09:45 AM Nino - waiting for you to get that sport red metallic in!
Nino@gaypontiac 04-29-2009, 09:52 AM excuses! LOL
bond2 04-29-2009, 10:57 AM Nino,
Is there anyway to find out if anymore MGM G8 GTs will be produced as a 2009.5? As previously mentioned it appears none currently exist as a 2009.5. Thanks
Nino@gaypontiac 04-29-2009, 11:24 AM the 09 and 09.5 model run is over. They are not building any more.
G8GXP4now 04-29-2009, 11:25 AM You serious about the Buick? That is new info.
Nino@gaypontiac 04-29-2009, 11:30 AM I cannot say how true it is or is not, I do know that a Buick Version is already sold in China as a Park Avenue.
Who's to say we cant have a
V6 = Park Avenue or Regal
GT = Grand National
GXP = GNX
Could be interesting no?
G8GXP4now 04-29-2009, 11:37 AM Yes but a V6 turbo would be a nice flashback (direct injected this go around).
Posidon42 04-29-2009, 11:51 AM excuses! LOL
The ball is in your court brother :D
Nino@gaypontiac 04-29-2009, 12:01 PM Just got a truckload in, maybe yours will be here today or tomorrow.

I was actually the first to mentioned the history of the GN/GNX as a reference to short-term cars that did make it. Another person made reference to Buick and the GN/GNX possibility. I almost owned a GN, could have gotten a GNX, but noooo, I got a Fbird instead :(
Nino: Include me in for a white or black GXP with onyx interior, auto, no options. Will see what happens over next couple of days with incentives.
flensr 04-29-2009, 08:15 PM Tried to get a deal for a GT in Dallas at Lonestar Pontiac, and the best they could do was $28,900 (pretty much everything except sport package). That's not much above my local dealer who went pure invoice minus incentive, so I'll probably buy local. Maybe I can get free tinting or something instead of spending a day of my life to save $500.
phoenixitc 04-29-2009, 08:23 PM Consider buying down here in Austin at Covert Pontiac. 22 GTs on their lot, really nice folks.

Nino, so I take it the boss man shut down the 27,782 deal for the SBM GT as well.
Nino@gaypontiac 04-30-2009, 10:56 AM The GT's are still ok for me to deal on, Im just out of coupons so I cant get there now. :(
I can still sell for triple net however. ;)
bowtie 04-30-2009, 11:01 AM Consider buying down here in Austin at Covert Pontiac. 22 GTs on their lot, really nice folks.
No offense, but if Nino had the car someone was looking for and they were not going to be trading something in, I would sugest they make the drive to Gay Pontiac to get their new car. I am in Austin, and have been pricing the G8's for over a year, and none of the Austin dealers, including Covert, were willing to deal until just here recently. While Nino has been offering deals for a long time now. Granted I did purchase my car locally but it was not until hitting them up with the Nino deal that they were even willing to come close, and as mentioned the only real reason i even did that was because Nino did not have the color I wanted at the time and he could not guarantee my trade in with out looking at the car and I was reluctant to drive 400 miles just to find out what they would give me for my trade in. For what it is worth, once the haggling was done with the local dealer, I ended up getting a great deal and have had nothing but positive experiences with them since (I bought from South Point Pont.), but it still bugs me that they tried for so long to get full sticker on this car and even after the market went to crap they still did not really want to deal. Also this is the 2nd time I had this issue with Austin Pont dealers. In 1999 when I was going to purchase a WS6 Trans Am, none of the Austin dealers would give me supplier pricing even though I qualified for it through GM. Apparently it is a voluntary thing and none of the Austin dealers would honor it on a WS6, and in fact one of the dealers was still marking the WS6 up $2000.00 over MSRP. I ended up driving 30 miles north to Georgetown to get the car at GMS.
Macer 04-30-2009, 11:13 AM South Point Pont is horrible...I had the same experience when buying my GTO. Ended up driving up to Temple to get the deal I wanted. Covert and South Point were both hoarding GTO's to try and get premiums on them (which is why they still had a ton of 06's in 2007). Glad you were able to get a deal though.
What price can you give me on a fully loaded inc. sunroof G8 in silver, MGM or PB w/onyx/red inserts?
Thanx.

It is pure flat cost.
Invoice, minus holdback minus rebates

Offense? Whatever, sparky...
I only offered up Covert as a suggestion... take it or leave... I don't really care. When I was shopping, I offered Covert's deal to Nino, he indicated he could not beat it and to go local. I had the same deal with Nyle and South Point. Nyle Maxwel did not have the sunroof cars, and South Point's internet manager is a little prick... Kim Covert did her job well and I bought from her.

Hey Nino, How much is the holdback on a typical G8 GT??
Why would you even suggest another dealership when nino is a paying sponsor on here?nino I get outta work at 4 pm tomorrow. I might be coming to see you after wards
Nino@gaypontiac 04-30-2009, 02:02 PM OK man, No sweat.
I dont mind people posting optoions for those who aren't close. I dont have any old age cars and will be the first to admit I have lost some sales because of it. A 900 dollar difference in MSRP is hard to make up.
AU_Mech 04-30-2009, 05:53 PM How do you find out if a car sitting on the lot is an old car?
phoenixitc 04-30-2009, 06:07 PM I used state inspection sticker to help. '09.5s have blue tooth.
beach 04-30-2009, 07:32 PM How do you find out if a car sitting on the lot is an old car?
A lower MSRP vs. others with the same equipment, for one, and then the door jamb sticker, the vin number (last 6 starting in 1xxxxx or low 2xxxxx), or specifically the Pontiac.com inventory locater that lists the specific build week for any unsold new G8--old builds will be mid 20's or under, down to single digit weeks.
flensr 04-30-2009, 08:15 PM Any opinions on an offer I just got... $27,900 for a liquid red GT with premium and sunroof (no sport package) but only if I put down a deposit tonight (last day of the month).
I'm leaning towards saying yes and giving him my credit card number to prove intent to buy "today" even though I can't finalize the deal until Saturday... I sure hope I don't get burned because I don't know what my options will be if Fri rolls around and the price is significantly lower.
VQ35DE 04-30-2009, 08:30 PM Wait till Saturday.
flensr 04-30-2009, 08:33 PM How come? Seriously. The guy says my credit card won't be charged if I back out...
Nino@gaypontiac 04-30-2009, 08:34 PM someones trying to hit a bonus. ;)
Where do you live?
VQ35DE 04-30-2009, 08:37 PM How come? Seriously. The guy says my credit card won't be charged if I back out...
You didn't tell us that part of the deal.
flensr 04-30-2009, 08:49 PM someones trying to hit a bonus. ;)
Where do you live?
Wichita Falls, too far to get to your dealership I'm afraid.
As I was typing this, the dealer called and said that they're not even going to charge a deposit up front, and if the price drops they'll honor that. The credit card is, according to the dealer, a way they can show proof to the manager that I'm not just playing dealers off against each other.
I'm still trying to get them to throw in tint :)
On a separate note, anyone know if there is an approved trailer hitch for the G8 GT? My firebird was a very forgiving tow vehicle (around 1800lbs max if I recall correctly) and I'm hoping the 2000lb towing capacity for the G8 is matched by a trailer hitch that won't void warranty.
For what it's worth, here is the car:

flensr 04-30-2009, 09:01 PM More info, the car is 200 days old. Does that make it an 09 or 09.5? Or does it matter? 6+ months on the lot is a long time...
Also, they said that since it won't be signed and paid for by tonight, it goes towards next month's sales totals regardless of the price.
Last update - they said they would throw in tint. Yay. Maybe I should have held out for Nino's price minus the cost of the sport package, and also ask them to pay for my gas to and from Wichita Falls.
texas g8 gt 04-30-2009, 09:35 PM yea i found one locally in the sport red met with a build week of 07, not sure what all that means, but i know i looked at one in a different area last sept that has the same build week. now will they deal more or less on that one is the ? but for me that question will be answered tomorrow after i see what incentives they offer.

Great info...I am having trouble finding the build week on the Pontiac.com site though. It's probably staring me right in the face, but... can anyone help?
texas g8 gt 04-30-2009, 09:48 PM i clicked on the view window sticker and found them listed in the description. hope this helps

VQ35DE 05-01-2009, 05:15 AM Rebate is up to $3500 now.
VQ35DE 05-01-2009, 09:23 AM From $3000.
Tha Professor 05-01-2009, 09:25 AM I was told from a local dealer that the rebate went to $4,000.
Nino what kind of price can you give me on a 2009.5GT w/everything inc sunroof?
Rawyzf 05-01-2009, 10:16 AM The rebate for April was $3000 right? Do you guys know for a fact that it is $4K for May?
I'm just about to pull the trigger, that extra K would be killer.
If it is 4K, ill be in right after work. i get out at 5 today nino, i woke up a little late lol. so instead of 7-4 im here 8-5. i hope to see you today.
BKBarile 05-01-2009, 10:30 AM There is not a single one showing up in the locater within 5000 miles.
Chances are, they simply did not build any.
I had the same problem when I bought mine, the web site sucks, call your local dealer they were there for me, I bought mine a month ago
i thought i saw an MGM sport passing beck and masten this weekend.
G8fan 05-01-2009, 10:42 AM Unless I am missing something website still says $3000 through 6/1
not sure which website you're on, but gmbuypower hasnt been updated for the new month... still saying take delivery by 4/30. dealers are saying 3500 though id probably go with that
Rawyzf 05-01-2009, 11:03 AM I just got a call from my dealer, $3500. ($500 is can be used in conjuction with 0.0% for 60/mo).
So, $3500 cash or $500 cash and 0.0%.
Nino@gaypontiac 05-01-2009, 12:52 PM 3000 cash and 500 dealer cash
3500 or 500 and 0%
AU_Mech 05-01-2009, 01:23 PM Nino,
So what do the deals look like now?
Nino@gaypontiac 05-01-2009, 01:33 PM I need a little time to figure it all out. Ill have something later today.
BTW, 20 GT's in stock, 4 V-6's and about to be 5 GXP's...
This month is going to be G8 month...
TechKnow 05-01-2009, 06:15 PM Yes but a V6 turbo would be a nice flashback (direct injected this go around).
Hell yea! How about twin turbo even! Look at the new Nissan Skyline R35, it's a TT V6 that keeps up with super cars! Youtube it!
:gears:
flensr 05-01-2009, 08:29 PM Hmmm, what to do. Local dealer wants to make something work, but he can't *quite* match the guy in Dallas. The local guy will get me the car I want (with summer tires instead of the all-seasons I wanted) and free tint for $27,800, and he said he would pocket around $200 on the deal and hope I buy my next car from him.
So I called the Dallas guy, and said that a day of my life driving down there plus giving the finger to the local dealer is worth a minimum of $500. He's gonna call me back tonight...
texas g8 gt 05-01-2009, 08:46 PM so would an earlier production week mean the dealer would play ball more or what does this all mean other than its been sitting on the lot longer? thanks
flensr 05-01-2009, 08:48 PM Dallas guy said he'd beat the local dealer's price by $500 no matter what he quotes me. I guess I'm going to Dallas tomorrow. Now I gotta find the VIN lookup website to get some more info on the car...
flensr 05-01-2009, 08:50 PM so would an earlier production week mean the dealer would play ball more or what does this all mean other than its been sitting on the lot longer? thanks
I think it means different things to different dealers and customers... For both the customer and dealer, it means a different MSRP/invoice price to start with. For the dealer, it's motivation to sell. For a customer, it might mean bluetooth or not and it might also mean "road rash" if it's been bumped around a bit or test-driven a few times while it sat on the lot.
For me, it's all about the price. Gotta buy a new pair of shoes for the kid and my wife says the good ones are $50 and he needs them because he just started walking. $50 for a 13-month old's shoes. That's why I'm being more picky on the price than I am about build date.
texas g8 gt 05-01-2009, 08:58 PM got it... i found only one in my area with the 2009.5 M Y so i guess that's the only one with the bluetooth? thanks for the help
Posidon42 05-01-2009, 09:06 PM so, is this 'dallas guy' nino? Because if it isn't, all of this talk seems awfully rude in a thread by a site sponsor...

I can take it elsewhere, and apologies if I've stepped on his toes. Nino is making a lot better deals than I can find and he's selling newer cars, but I can't get to Austin so I've been looking for advice that I didn't seem to find in the other forums.
Nino, if I've been rude then I apologize. It's refreshing to see a dealer who is excited about his cars, and I hope you make your sales early. Again, my apologies for hijacking your thread and forum.
HardTech 05-01-2009, 10:30 PM Nino is great, and what hes done with other dealers. If the guy in dallas didnt play ball I would have been there. I had a hotel room booked and ready after all ;)
Although I was nice, sent my cousins to Nino... They are looking for a car, and are local to him :)
Nino@gaypontiac 05-02-2009, 09:44 AM New thread folks. ;)
With some great pictures...
