I couldn't resist. This is probably the best dollar/hp mod I can do even without headers.

Here is all the parts for those interested. Chime in if you see anything missing.
Camshaft -Comp XE-R 273HR (224/230 .581"/.588" 114LSA 112ICL)
Valvesprings - Comp 26918-16
Pushrods - Comp 7955-16
CTS -V 8000 rpm Lifters - 88958689 (no I'm not going to rev that high, but they are lighter weight)
LS2 Valley Cover - 12570471
Lifter Guide Trays - 1259365
Head Gaskets - 12589227
Timing Chain Tensioner - 12585997
Valve Keepers - 10166345
Timing Chain - 12586482
Cam Sprocket - 12586481
Sprocket Bolts - 12556127
Cam Swap kit - 12499228
So, I still need headers, but I'm trying to stay within budget. I am trying to keep it between 2-3K. I'll probably mill the heads and if I'm really motivated, do a little bowl work on the heads.

Here is what I have coming
- Magnaflow cat-back
- Vararam CAI
- SLP U/D Pulley
- 160 T-stat
- Ported TB

Here's what I'd like to do next, but may have to wait till after my Afghanistan trip.

- SLP headers
- Yank 3600 Converter
- M/T Drag radials on stock 18's
- 3.70 Gears
- FAST LSXr intake

sounds like everything included in our dod delete kit, except our stage 1 cam is a 224/230 .581/.590 114lsa. it also includes ARP bolts and the required pushrods for $1339. we don't include the cts-v-r lifters because the ls7 can go 7500+, cost less, and haven't been on back order for 4 months like the cts-v-r ones have.

If you are going to do a 3600 converter and a gear I would look at out stage 2 cam personally. 230/236 .590/.600 114lsa. the package costs the same with this cam as well.

Andy, my cam box is sitting on my living room floor waiting to be installed :( It keeps taunting me

Thanks for the input. The main reason for the V lifters was for the weight. If they are on back order then I'll just get the LS7 lifters. Not sure of the real world benefit, but anytime you can keep the mass down on valvetrain components the better the high rpm stability.
I really wanted to keep the cam profile mild. I'm not sure when the converter is going to get done and I am already concerned about low rpm bucking with a stock converter. It will be much easier to do a cam swap in the future once all the DOD delete parts are swapped in.
