: Just test drove today... I have a question
vikings_70 03-21-2008, 05:22 PM I just went and test drove a GT at my local dealer in Lansing today... and now I'm sold. I'm doing a lease pullahead on my Grand Prix as soon as I can and getting a loaded G8 GT. It was a great time. #362 I believe.
My question is though, is if there's been any news on a manual for '09. I will have the option of ordering an '08 and '09, and I'm kind of interested if there's been some rumors about the M6 coming to the GT. I'd love to get a GXP, but I think the GT is more in my range. Thanks for any info!
Also, I was quoted $515/mo with Premium and Sport package, red/black interior, 15k miles, and GMS pricing. Is this about what I should expect?
mike c 03-21-2008, 07:01 PM No news yet of the Manual in the '09 GT but definetly in the '09 GXP. Haven't seen enough info yet on deals people are getting. How many years is the $515/month lease? And are you putting anything down?

I would wait alittle if you can. $515 amonth lease for one of these is a joke!!! Something between the upper 3's and low 4's is all you should pay on a lease for one of these things.:banghead:

Yeah I'd tend to agree, I just didn't want to think I was going crazy. my Grand Prix GT is decked out with all the options, and actually has an MSRP right around the G8 GT, and I pay 311/mo. The lease is for 2 years, and I wasn't going to put anything down. (maybe a grand, which would lower my payments approx $30 my rep said). I'm also toying with the idea of buying it, can anyone speculate what the payments would be on purchasing?
BlueGoat 03-21-2008, 10:40 PM On my GTO, the manuals come from Helm and it takes them about a year to get them together for some reason. One each for the chassis/interior and one mechanical.

If you go to www.pontiac.com on the bottom left hand side of the home page there is a "button" for Financial Tools. Click that, then click Esimate Payment from the drop down. A screen will open in a new window that allows you to play with numbers and see what buy, Smartbuy and Smartlease payments will run you based on current financing offers for the G8.
baabootoo 03-21-2008, 11:59 PM I think upper 3s is not realistic at all.
vikings_70 03-22-2008, 11:59 AM Well I somewhat answered my own question. I went onto GM's drive and buy website for employees (my dad may or may not be a GM exec) and built an '09. Then we compared it with the '08. The only differences I saw were the '09 gets XM standard, and wireless phone connectivity standard. The gas tank is also .2 gallons smaller, and it is sequential fuel injection instead of multi. No manual Option Available.
G6Owner 03-22-2008, 02:38 PM Went to the dealer today and took a look at the G8 - for the car imho $500 is way too high for a lease. Honestly, wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. Go figure.
joshls 03-22-2008, 03:17 PM It should fall to between $450 and $475 for a loaded GT. My wife leases an Outlook ($36K) for $513 a month with an extended warranty, 15k a year 39 months. You will probably not see under $400 on a GT, maybe a v6.
