dutchman 04-22-2009, 03:55 AM Great pictures!! It looks fantastic!!! Nice and clean!! Take care. Pete
Smtkd 04-22-2009, 08:30 AM Wow! Really nice Ride man! Congrats and Welcome!
josh_4184 04-22-2009, 09:16 AM Just sick looking, I think the Holden Commodore looks awsome in all of its forms. I think I like the Aussie version the best though.
fredl11 04-22-2009, 09:19 AM why isn't that sold here????

r33pwrd 04-22-2009, 09:28 AM why isn't that sold here????
becuase GM would rather waste thousands and thousands on new molds to make 3 different front ends?? And they wonder why they are broke??
In all honesty I think they could not fit the 5mph bumper under this front end... (should have thought of that before they built the Aussie version)
But I love this car it looks killer!
jackalope 04-22-2009, 10:09 AM OMG that is HOTT!
travs_g8gt 04-22-2009, 12:58 PM Beautiful Car! I've already ordered the SSV conversion kit from JHP, but I think I may have to spring for those 20" Supersports as well, those are beautiful wheels! Wish they had been an option here in the states!
bonners 04-22-2009, 05:21 PM Thanks heaps guys. I find it amusing that we want what you have and vice versa. A common conversion down here at present is the addition of G8 'nostril' bonnets and changing to G8 lip spoilers. I am thinking of the spoiler for mine.

If you were really serious I have mine for sale at present. I will PM some details because you are going to have to get them delivered from here anyway and I can save you some money.
beach 04-22-2009, 08:16 PM Hot car, bonners, really.
What's your take on the Orssom OTR vs. stock? I'm one of the few to have one here, but have yet to install & load a new tune to go with it.
bonners 04-22-2009, 08:34 PM Mate do it. Orssom note (ha ha nice pun), and I really did notice seat of pants difference. I cant give a power difference because when it was retuned to take the OTR I didn't get it put on the dyno.
It's also a great looking bit of kit and cleans up the engine bay nicely. The orssom one is very OEM in looks
As soon as mine was delivered it went in the car, couldnt wait
beach 04-22-2009, 09:32 PM Sounds great, thanks;) I love the look too, and the no tilting/loosening of the radiator to mount it. I'm just trying to figure out an ideal place to put a stub for the PCV hose...as nothing on it, anywhere, for it. Either the box or one of the couplers.
bonners 04-22-2009, 09:39 PM If it is indeed an Orssom one from here in Oz, it has all things required in the box. With mine, I decided to stay with a MAF tune and therefore we cut the back pipe off to put my MAF on. There is a feeder hose which also connects to the back or the side of it.

Yes. Or should I say, it is a Replica, hence the lack of any Orssom insignias. But, it came from Oz and looks identical...just missing things like the PCV stub & line. Oh well. So, on the back of the box is where it's routed into?
P.S., Sorry for ambushing the thread with this question...but thanks for answering;)
What a hot car you have...I'm still enjoying the pictures.
bonners 04-23-2009, 06:26 AM No probs with questions ask away. I will take some photos the otr and post for you.
SilverFox 04-23-2009, 07:59 PM I love those SuperSport rims !!!! How much you selling them for?
bonners 04-23-2009, 09:00 PM Yes everyone my rims are indeed for sale. I am waiting on getting my post count up before advertising. It hadn't occurred to me to advertise on here but I have already had a number of interested parties. I won't deny postage will be a killer but buying my rims, delivered, will cost you less than buying through a vendor down here. Interested parties can send me a PM
MABg8ter 04-24-2009, 06:48 PM Is Phantom = PBM? That is exactly what I'd want my car to look like.
AUSSSV 04-27-2009, 06:47 AM Hey blokes,
I also have the same car as Bonner. Good to be here . Pete
AUSSSV 04-27-2009, 06:49 AM Sorry, heres my 60th Anniversary SSV

G8 MIC 07-16-2009, 12:01 PM I hope this is what the new caprice will look like here in the states. Great looking car!
I AGREE! I hope it looks like that! SWEET!
BrandonG777 07-16-2009, 01:08 PM Man your car is beautimus maximus! I love those SS rims, unfortunately I can't afford right now.
bonners 07-24-2009, 07:34 PM Thanks guys. Car has changed a bit since these photos. Using the Wortec Carbon Edition, I have added an Orange stripe to the side and added HSV GTS wheels. These will be painted black shortly.
I have also had some suspension work done. The existing Pedders lowered springs I had have been replaced with the new Pedders XA Adjuastable Coilovers. WOW, what a difference these things have made. Then to improve again, I had the Pedders Void bushes installed when the car went back for it's 1000k suspension check. I recommend this setup to all VE Commodore/Pontiac G8 drivers.

DHMOTORSPORTS08 07-30-2009, 04:18 PM you just need a superchager now to help finish the wortec conversion.
bonners 07-30-2009, 05:23 PM I wish. Have already pushed the friendship with my wife doing what I have done.
That said, she did agree to my buying something for my birthday coming up. I want to get one of the Walkinshaw Performance Bonnet Scoops. Not everyones cup of tea but I kinda like them.

I'm very familiar with the wifey issues. That is a very sharp ride you got there. I really like the wheels.:wink2:
bonners 08-15-2009, 04:39 AM So you know I have been copying the Wortec Carbon Edition.
Well here it is nearly complete. Calipers to be painted, engine covers to be painted and SS rear badge to be painted.
I got my wheels back from the panel beater yesterday and am absolutely rapt. I'm so happy with the way they have turned out.

95ImpalaSS407TT 08-15-2009, 06:28 AM Black on Black with the Chevy Grill, THERE's MY FUTURE Impala SS ( I HATE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU LOL) IT LOOKS AMAZING, exactly how I want mine to look when Im done converting to an Impala SS. Damn u F*#K'd my day up...LOL
CANT WAIT TO CONVERT MINE...
bonners 08-15-2009, 06:49 AM sorry mate.....lol
This has been a long time coming for me. To get it all together like this has taken me a good couple of months. Months of stress and getting rooted around. But now its finished and I am rapt.
Make sure you let me know when yours is done....
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-15-2009, 06:52 AM Hey is all in PRAISE, I luv ur car, u done an amazing job and cant wait to do it, the hard part is getting the bumper n bonnet, everything else i already have. But seeying yours, really shows me where ill be, BEAUTIFUL, Take care of that baby...
sorry mate.....lol

bonners 08-15-2009, 06:59 AM It's all good. I knew it was in jest. Thanks for the compliments.
wolfcountry 08-15-2009, 07:04 AM Thanks heaps guys. I find it amusing that we want what you have and vice versa. A common conversion down here at present is the addition of G8 'nostril' bonnets and changing to G8 lip spoilers.
If you guys want our hoods and front bumpers and we want yours then why can't we set up some type of a hood and bumper swap program?
bonners 08-15-2009, 07:23 AM There is a few 'issues' with this.
Mainly is that most guys down here with HSV an SS cars want the bonnet but maintain their bumpers. This isn't possible because of how the G8 bumper ties into the bonnet with the grille. Stick a G8 bonnet on a SS and you would have that little bit in the middle hanging down.
On a side note, Holden is releasing a special edition model SSV (mine) later in the year. Part of the upgrade is a G8 bonnet and bumper
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-15-2009, 08:17 AM I just want the Chevy grille, i dont care if is G8 Bonnet, Holden Bonnet, Whatever, I just Need my chevy grille, without it, It wont be a an Impala SS.
I need to go back to Miami, my body shop there can custom shape anything, here in MD, everything is limited, and mostly skill of bodyshops. Man what a issue...

cazzanomix 08-15-2009, 08:46 AM Serious mad props. I do not like the chevy emblem though. Re-badge that puppy. Sad to see GM put out some awesome rides at such a late part of the game. Now the tree hugging hippies will rejoice with their lil bubbles of misery.
wolfcountry 08-15-2009, 09:00 AM Part of the upgrade is a G8 bonnet and bumper
I wonder if this is because they have a bunch of extra hoods and bumpers that they won't need for the US market anymore!:whine:
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-15-2009, 09:45 AM See the thing is not of me liking the Holden/Chevy front clip or the Pontiac front clip, the issue is that I am an 94-96 Impala SS FREAK and with the Pontiac nostrills the other Impala SS/Holden/Chevy parts wont look right...
But o well it aint burger king so I cant always have it my way... we'll see how I'll do...

cazzanomix 08-15-2009, 09:58 AM Burger King....LOL, I always have it my way! The chevy grills just look passive...like a smiling toyota or honda. Let me not make it seem like I am bashing because hell the G8's future is most likely going to end up in the hands of the Impala.
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-15-2009, 10:16 AM LOL bro, Nobody has it 100% there way, Believe me...lol But we can try...lol
Ohhhhh and the Commodore/G8 was suppsoed to be an Chevy from the get go, just like they have them on egypt, south africa and other places (Lumina SS, regardless what they called it here if it wwas to happend), at the end GM, flipped the coin and brought it as a Pontiac, but never forget It was supposed to be a Chevy.
So pretty much im bringing the car back to what it was supposed to be.
But at the end of the Day, Holden/Chevy/Pontiac, is all the same and an amazing vehicle and out of all the cars I have and had, this is the most passionate people are about...

Well Pontiac needed the support after the failed Grand Prix Series that they had for about a decade.
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-16-2009, 06:17 PM My bodyshop guy in Miami can do ANYTHING, he is an animal doing custom work and fabrication, but I am in Maryland in the meantime and here people got no skills.
Can your bodyshop custom make me the centre trim from the TJIN edition???
bonners 08-16-2009, 06:34 PM Could you ask him how much to make and ship out here? Or some contact details. I swear if someone could make that centre trim, then mould it and patent it, they would be onto a gold mine. So many people dislike the digital gauges
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-17-2009, 04:59 AM Didnt JHP had something like this? I thought i have seen this somewhere...

bonners 08-17-2009, 05:33 AM Mate you are correct. They sell a good product but it sits in the space where the centre speaker is. This is fine on the 'lower' spec SS cars here where the radio information is displayed in the centre window at the top of the dash.
I have a SSV which is up spec and has a full colour display head unit and then three digital gauges in the little display window. If you use the JHP one, what do you do to the little window.
I want to do what TJIN did and customise three gauges into the location of that little window. Then those with the SSV would have a great gauge pod. As I said, if someone could make these and mould them it would be a goldmine.
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-17-2009, 05:36 AM When I am able to transfer vack to Miami i can sit with my bodushop guy and see what he thinks, but while I am in maryland is gonna be impossible. Hope i'll be back in Miami soon...

bonners 08-17-2009, 05:44 AM That sounds great.
I'm a little ignorant on locations in the States but I would have to believe that Miami would be a nicer spot. I'd love to go there.
95ImpalaSS407TT 08-17-2009, 05:49 AM Man, Miami is one of the best places I know to be, plus I have my houses there, so is an easy move... But since I work for the Gov, I am also trying to go either to Japan or Australia, but those are really hard to get...
That sounds great.

bonners 06-23-2010, 04:44 PM Well, the job is done. 224/230 cam and FAST LSX-R manifold are installed.
I'm loving it. Has a great sound, very driveable, but has some poke when pushed.
And the result...... 308rwkw. Approx 413rwhp.....
I will add some more photos soon. Car is almost finished...... nah probably not... Will probably add some bling to the engine including a TB.

asylum 04-11-2011, 11:27 PM nice! are you gonna finish the stripe to the front 1/4? looks a little odd stopping at the front door...
also, be sure to get green calipers with the brake upgrade :D
bonners 04-11-2011, 11:58 PM The stripes Ususlly finish at the HSV flutes in the Ve which sit just on the other side of the door. Mine being a SS doesn't have them. Search for Wortec carbon edition and you'll see what I mean.
If I do the upgrade I want calipers will be exactly the same green as the stripes

yeah i know the car, just wasn't sure if the stripes were bought like that and needed a custom bit to finish them off, or if you were maybe planning on fitting HSV guards later on?

What can I say but WOW! This shifter is amazing. I have used a gm Motorsport knob but the shifter is MGW. It's terrific. Nice and precise and has removed all the sloppy stock feel. Highly recommended
