Well got my Borla from Maryland Speed...great service..
Layed it out on floor in garage polished system..tried to install won't fit.
It seems that Borla sent me two driverside rear section of x pipe and wont fit. Now after hours of trying to get to fit and car on stands with no exhaust..I'm stuck with no exhaust..this is what you get from Borla for $1000 dollars
Borla seems to be serious lacking in quality control..from what I was told this isn't the first this has happen from Borla lately. I had a Borla on my Z-28 10 years ago fit like a glove..this sucks.
Luckly I live only 30 min from Maryland Speed so hopefully I can get this resovled soon..I hope.

Com'on dude, People are not perfect and error's do happen every now and then, but that's not a reason to "beware". Im sorry for your unfortunate mishap but technically the term beware should be used for bad service from a company who had a bad product sent without rectification or a product that has a history of being defective! Most are having great successs with the new Borla kit. I hope you can get it resolve because this system IMO is well worth it!

Dude..I'm just letting people know what happen to me. I loved my Borla on my Z28, but there is no excuses for this on a exhaust system you spend a $1000 or more when including taxes. Luckly I can do this my garage with stands..I be really pist if I took it a shop to have put on and this happen.
I know mistakes happen but when you spend a lot of money like this it's just unacceptable sorry. Especially for people that have been waiting over a month for this system.

Mistakes happen. Give them a chance to fix it before you label them.

I took the "beware" as a check to make sure you have correct parts before jacking car up and removing old exhaust not "beware borla sucks" Borlas has been around WAY to many years to be a crap company (no crap company sells stuff for high dollar like they do and lasts)

Ok I agree Borla doesn't suck!! I didn't say they suck,my situation sucks.
I was trying to make everyone here aware of there system and check it out closely.
The back section is what wrong with mine, 2 driver sides. If you just do a quick glance you might not catch it like I did. Like I stated I have used Borla before fit perfect, thats why when I laided it out it looked pretty normal till after trying to install and noticed one hanger weld was on top of pipe and other on bottom. Both rear hanger welds should be on bottom when looking down on system lying on floor. I am just unluckly I guess, unfortuately some out there probably has 2 passenger side pipes..hope not.

Maryland Speed was great!! I sent them pics of problem they contacted Borla and Borla confirmed that I do have 2 driver sides. So I am getting a new pipe UPS to me tomorrow.

Maybe they sent a bunch out the door a little too fast because people have been waiting on them for months. I had a similiar problem with my rotofab, they forgot to put some parts in the box.

i have to agree somewhat with the quality of the exhaust, the passenger side flange didnt line up with the bolts correctly which resulted in me bending the bolt at the cat slightly to get it to fit right.....also the passenger side pipe the starts at the cat was slightly shorter than the driver side one, it made it a pain in the ass to get the mid pipe hooked up but with a little muscle it all worked out, also the xpipe portion is ****ty where the hole is....but it sounds great and there seems to be no other issues, but i agree that for 1000 dollars the system should be flawless, especially since i waited almost a month for it........im sending pics of the xpipe to borla and if it is screwed uip they will send me a new one

borla is a nice system.... sucks what happen to you.. im sure maryland speed will gladly help you with the problem ...myself tho just with alot of experience with it im going with corsa... to me you cant beat that system yea it is pricey but well forth it. goodluck!

In all honestly I have had this happen with every exhaust company. It's an easy mistake to make in mass production. I even had it happen with a Magnaflow I put on my GTO...didn't realize it till the stock exhaust was off.

I always BEG..for your own good that anyone who receives any aftermarket part verify the correct parts are there before they attempt an install. These are still boxed by humans at the manufactuer..and we just label the box..so you really have to set yourself up for sucess.

My main concern now..is someone likely has two passenger sides. I am hoping to not get an voicemails cussing out my phone system this weekend.

sorry was a little upset..If I honestly thought borla suck I wouldn't have bought them since had bought there exhaust before!! Was up all night wrestling with damn thing after working all day..was just venting I guess..sorry. I was just trying to help and have people check there system closing so they don't waste a lot of time like I did..

I got the correct pipe this morning so I hopefully this afternoon will be riding with new exhaust.

For all the OP knows, it's happened to him and probably 2 other people elsewhere on the internet.

A small handful of mis-shipped items does not a-serious-quality-control-problem make.

I had a 2002 GTP and installed a Borla exhaust system, they sent me all the right parts but the exhaust tips were different on each muffler :). I finished the install and contacted them. They promptly sent me the correct muffler with the right style tips while I drove around with square tips on the left and round tips on the right :slap:. I was very happy with their product afterwards.
