: I Am The Queen Of the Quarter Mile!!

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!

Today I did my first Car Club Challenge, and I rocked! Here was my first time trial:

R/T: .394
60': 2.03
1/8th: 8.79
1/4th: 13.502
MPH: 105.63|

That was pretty average, I guess. 13.5 is what my stock times were.

However, on my 2nd time trial - I got a 13.303! In addition, I finally got a 1.98 60'!

Third time trial was my best to date. My husband has the time slip and he's on his way home, so I will post the particulars within an hour or so. I had an R/T of .078, a 60' of 1.947, and a 1/4th of 13.295!! [Best R/T to Date: .015]

I'm totally amazed with myself. On my first elimination I ran a dial-in of 13.30, and hit it with a 13.304. I red lighted on my second round, but did pull a 13.29 again. I even forgot to put it in sport mode. :slap: I did find that the "tapping the gearshift to hold 3rd gear" won't work for me much longer - the tranny wants to shift around 105MPH, and the car is screaming "OH GOD TOO FAST CHANGE GEARS" right as I cross the trap. I'm thinking of leaving it in sport next test and tune and finding out if it makes THAT much of a difference. This car is consistantly running 13.3/2 now, and it's awesome. I haven't had another 2.XX 60' either. I wonder if anyone is looking to sponsor a girl in a G8 GT...:driving:

Hey Ranay, CONGRATS! Was wondering when we would hear from you! Saw the post by Mike, but you were missing! Brenden get to make a run or two also?:pir_flag:

Nope. One driver, one car. He had duty yesterday so he got there a few of my runs into it.

You ever going to let him take a run at it?

MissNaySimon
04-25-2009, 09:28 PM
Of course, eventually. We're working on a few other things under the hood and once I hit the peak, I'll let him take a stab at it. Or maybe I'll let him do a TnT weekend. But, we'd have to buy a second helmet. :/ He's thinking of racing my truck for fun, which he wouldn't need a helmet for. It's an idea.

Yeah. Apparently Famoso Speedway is the closest, from what my husband says.

NIIIIIIIICE.... I am going there next weeked for a nostalgia race (dragfest 2009)

What did your car dyno at? Are you planning on running the car while you are down here?

MissNaySimon

I might run it, if we've got the time. I would love to see what a difference CA vs WA does for it.

Our dyno wasn't done correctly. It dyno'd STOCK [300rwhp], but obviously runs much faster. Once we get our tune and a few other secret projects in, we'll have it done again.

you should visit Haddads while you are down here for the tune... his shop is amazing & he can dyno it.

What event is happening at that time at Famoso?

I have absolutely no idea. We're going down to visit the husband's family for two weeks. Hopefully they have an open track day in there somewhere. :/ it would be awesome to meet some of you!

That sounds like a plan to me! I hope I can fit my DRs in the car. :/

Nice times, but if you have drag radials you really should be getting better 60' times than mid 1.9xs. What is your launch technique? Are you doing a nice burnout beforehand?

MissNaySimon

Today was my first *real* adventure on the DRs. We've quickly learned that I don't have the power I need to get them sticky enough to make a tremendous difference. At the next test and tune night I plan on practicing my launch at something other than idle. Most likely 1500, like others on here. But, since I was in a bracket race - it was better for me to keep consistant than try to relearn something last minute.

Actually her 1.94 60ft with stock tune is pretty impressive. There is a lot to free up on just the launch with adjusting PE burst knock and IAT timing. There is also all the torque management that limits max torque on the launch and stall up.

BTW Famoso is an awesome track. I've raced three many times. It'll probably be pretty warm there in June though. I think Bremerton is the quickest West Coast track I've raced on so far. Low altitude, high baro, low temps and a track that hooks pretty good.

I just looked it up - and Famoso is only 45 minutes from my inlaws. Expect me there. :) Looks like it'll be the last thing we get to do in cali before heading back. :)

Can i put my wife in for that title match? Her very first pass with are gxp was a .017 would be a very good challenge, she only has 3 perfect light pins with are 10 second t.a that she normally races. How do you like your OPG cai on your g8? could you tell a difference?

MissNaySimon

We could tell a difference right away. The oem intake is SOOO restricting!!

congrats. now all the PNW G8's (that drag race) are in the 12's :D
Guess we have to work on the 11's now

MissNaySimon

Yes! 12 seconds is over QUICK!~!

On my last pass where I was eliminated, I would have broken out BIG TIME. I had to let up, and still ran a 13.008. I was way ahead of the C4 I got paired up with so I had to let up.

If I was that far ahead, I wonder what I would have gotten.... :P
