: My birthday present - V8 Supercar Drive !!
isszy 02-11-2007, 06:02 AM I cashed in my birthday present voucher - 5 laps in a V8 Supercar.
Well, not quite a V8 Supercar, but cars specced for the development series. The drive is done with an instructor sitting with you giving you gear change, braking points and lines. You can get pretty quick pretty quickly.
All I can say is 5 laps is not enough !

paco04 02-11-2007, 06:10 AM Cool, isszy. Did you learn anything?
isszy 02-11-2007, 02:15 PM Yeah, I learnt I'm not very good at getting 'racing' close to the car in front. I leave 2 seconds to the car in front on the road, but that doesn't work on the track.
I pretty quickly found that the suggested braking markers were too far from the corner, but with an instructor siting next to you it is hard to experiment too much.
sccaGTO 02-11-2007, 08:47 PM Too bad we don't have the V8 supercar style of racing in the US. I'd watch that stuff religiously. Plus, I'd be waiting for a high performance driving school to offer drives in cars like that. Looked like tons of fun Isszy.
ToMiT@ 02-11-2007, 09:23 PM Gosh, isszy!! That looks like a hell of alot of fun!! I am glad that Holden takes racing seriously because it means the G8 will be a "kick ass" car when it arrives here in the USA.:us_flag:
Holeshot 02-11-2007, 09:44 PM Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! Must have been a blast.

Good luck to you Isszy.........i am envious. I would be just as happy having Skaife drive for a couple of hot laps of Bathurst.
isszy 02-13-2007, 03:50 AM ok Olly, you win - Skaife at full noise around Bathurst I don't think you could name a price for. I am green with envy.
