Yup, pretty much at this point if you want to join any group the GTO's are the way to go. Not to many G8's out there yet, so getting a g8 only group would be tough.

if there is enough of you, I will sponsor a GOAT MEET G8 event in the Bay area. I know I can attract a lot of GTOs. the Bay aea knows DMS. I am really not sure how many G8s are out there at this point.

I think there are a lot of poeple on this forum that are thinking of getting a G8 and want to learn more about it. This kind of event is perfect.

Sorta. There are a few of us who are part of the NorCal Goats. Great group of guys. Everyone loves there discontinued Oz performance cars. We have Gtg's and events all of the time. Next month we are having a huge MOD day. Probably about 30 cars. Couple G8's, mostly GTO's. Nothing like free labor!

We've tried to have a couple G8 meets, but only had a handful of cars show-up. The NorCal GOATs are very welcoming of G8s and there are more and more of them all the time. I'd love to have all of the G8s join-up with the NorCal GOATs... there is little reason to start something from the ground-up when there is so much already established.

Like The Yeti mentioned, they do all sorts of things... almost every weekend in the warmer months. From Mod Days (great way to learn about your car and get some work done) to cruises (I tend to lead a couple of them a year) to an annual calendar (There are some awesome photographers in the group).

I know how that one goes! The great thing about the NorCal GOATs is that they almost always have something going on. If for some reason there isn't there are almost always people down for doing something.

I don't know if the car will be ready by then, but things are progressing nicely. It's too early to know for sure, but there are some plans in the works for me to be around that weekend.
